  1. Orwell: "In our age there is no such thing as "keeping out of politics." All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia. When the general atmosphere is bad, language must suffer.". The Science, stay safe etc.
  2. Agreed about titles. But our defence has been shaky all season. That Speedy O'Gonzales yahoo is always likely to cause defenders problems but Balogun and Helander both looked nervous today and so have all our CBs since 55.
  3. Decent result, after a fairly uninspiring performance. We look flat up front and shaky at the back.
  4. St Pauli is a district of Hamburg. It is very right on, in my experience. I have no idea why the football club would have a pipe band* or why the pipe band would perform in a room with Union Flags though. *I have no idea why anyone would - what a racket.
  5. I might be a bit odd but it's the nastiness that attracts me to football. When I was a kid I loved the sick humour, the bad behaviour, the terrible language and all that. I like football as well but take the dark side out of it and I'd probably rather watch it on TV. We have to behave all week at work and be responsible in our home life. Don't we get anywhere to be horrible bastards anymore?
  6. Isn't that what you were doing earlier in the thread by presupposing what others were thinking.
  7. Not really. I'm discussing the topic at hand (nasty football songs), so it's not really a case of playing the man not the ball, so to speak.
  8. I sometimes wonder if some supporters sit and squirm when they hear certain songs at Ibrox. After Hillsborough, the authorities decided to change their approach to football. Before that, it was something to be frowned upon - a pastime for the uncouth masses. After that, it has been viewed as a money making opportunity and they've tried to drive the unsavoury aspects away, which has been largely successful in the English top division. I get that people want a safe environment to watch the football but I had no idea so many football fans were such sensitive souls. I feel embarrassed for any grown man who is genuinely upset about a song sung by football fans - you must've had an easy ride if that's the sort of thing that bothers you.
  9. I love the tribalism involved in our rivalry with that lot. It's what makes it what it is. I'm a Unionist, who wants the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to stick together, so have no issues with songs that support that or mock those who don't.
  10. I didn't think there was anything wrong with his Tweets. Alas, in today's 'progressive' society we're no longer allowed to take the piss.
  11. Having diarrhea is more amusing than Janey Godley.
  12. The Irish authorities seem to share a similar draconian approach to freedom as speech as their pals at the SNP and that train of thought is rubbing off on some Bears. I think that's fair to say.
  13. We could get rangers_syntax to ask them some obtuse, confusing questions while buster prepares a lengthy dossier on their misbehaviour. Failing that, we could get Rousseau to bore them to death with stats. After that, if they're still standing, I'm sure no one would be mad enough to take on Bill in a debate.
  14. I really hope McGivern ends up seriously regretting what he has started here.
  15. Judging by his dress sense, I'd imagine the fashion police will be on his case too.
  16. Quite. There's a difference between being a decent, sensible person and bending over for that lot. Bears who want to bend over are as much use as a knackered lift, in my opinion.
  17. That's Derry's Walls and various other Ulster related songs out then. The likes of Dornan, Haggerty and co will not stop. A line has to be drawn at some point.
  18. A dying art.
  19. Hopefully their obvious attack on H&H will wake up any Bears who still read or click on Daily Record links. The Record and The Sun are no friends of ours and should be dealt with accordingly.
  20. Point 3 is rather alarming, despite not being too surprising. The UBs should set up a Go Fund Me page for legal costs for those charged. I'm sure many are sympathetic. It is quite apparent that the yahoos and their friends in authority have piggybacked last year's race panic and the same terminology used by Critical Race Theory/BLM is being turned on Rangers supporters, regardless of detail/nuance peculiar to our rivalry with Celtc. The word sectarianism has barely been mentioned in relation to Sunday but anti-Catholic, anti-Irish and racist have all been used a lot.
  21. The more we apologise, the more power we give them.
  22. I agree but the song is aimed at the type who attends football matches, waves an Irish tricolor and sings songs about the Provos and the Fields of Athenry, whilst also opposing all things British. I'd have thought that was obvious. Like a huge amount of Scots, I have ancestry from Ireland (as in Irish and Ulster/Scots) but think this is a ridiculous overreaction to run of the mill West of Scotland football rivalry. The onslaught will doubtless continue - they want us dead and buried (Rangers and Scottish Unionism).
  23. Indefinite ban before a conviction seems a bit hasty.
  24. And it goes further up the legal chain than that. Rangers supporters need to wise up to what's going on and accept that we are being scrutinised to a higher degree and need to behave accordingly. They tried to kill us off in 2012, it didn't work, so now it's death by a thousand cuts.
  25. Police Scotland just announced three men have been arrested for racially aggrevated offences that took place on Sunday. Further arrests expected.
