gersnet article (image) Respect, Disrespect and Rephrasing Dislike

I have no time at all for UEFA or the Scottish government (and fully respect the opinions of Bluedell, Frankie and Rick Roberts) but I get the feeling we're pissing in the wind, to a large extent. -

Crvena Zvezda have been punished with a full stadium closure because a chap in hospitality shouted an ethnic slur at Ibrahimovic, during their recent (closed doors) EL match with Milan. The Balkan situation (particularly between Serbs and Bosniaks) isn't entirely different to the one in NI/Scotland, where racial distinctions are negligible and the hatred is more based on religious affiliation. Regardless of what you or I think, UEFA view sectarianism on a par with racism. Additionally, the Scottish Government view the term 'F*nian' as a sectarian, not a political, term. -
Demanding harsh punishment for something you yourself will also be punished for is a bit silly, I agree. Racism is despicable. But we need to bear in mind who makes decisions and not dig holes for ourselves.

Haggerty, Liewell and co do. Doesn't matter what I think.

Lingerie sections in department stores are scarier than modern UK football grounds.

So you would ban Derry's Walls and pro-British songs from Ibrox? Okay.
-
Haggerty and the like are already gearing up for an onslaught the next time an, ahem, more choice song gets sung at a Rangers match (it only takes a few blokes to sing it within earshot of the wrong person/microphone). UEFA make no distinction between sectarianism and racism.

Rangers appeal Patterson, Bassey, Zungu et al bans

I heard Howe had a Churchill bust on his desk, at Bournemouth. Can't see that going down well at the Piggery. ? -
A valid ID requirement, in order to have a social media account, seems to be a popular way to stop abuse on these platforms but that could be considered discriminatory in itself because people from less advanced parts of the world might not then have access.

I doubt Facebook/Instagram or racists in central Europe (or elsewhere) will feel any negative effects of this boycott. Certainly not enough to consider changes are required. The current media reaction to racist abuse might actually have the opposite effect of that intended (I'm sure zitty Instagrammers in Prague, Cork or Napoli would love to say something newsworthy).

A week long boycott. Surely staying offline during the cup game against Separate Entity FC would be far more impactful.

I wonder what their season ticket uptake will be, after throwing away their much hyped (false) 10. I think they'll need more than hand sanitiser at that shithole.

That's the death rate, not the infected rate.

Heart and Hand have just tweeted this is rubbish. Apologies.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/rangers-set-to-agree-fourth-partnership-as-bosnian-side-zeljeznicar-tease-deal/ar-BB1fnWt5 This club have quite an interesting history and there's a few good players have come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it might pay off.

Racist Encounters in Scottish Football(Part 1).
Gonzo79 replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
Sanjeev Kohli lied about something, despite everyone in Scottish football knowing he was lying and despite media coverage confirming he was pointing the finger at the wrong set of fans. I think term 'useful idiot' is far too kind. -
What is it that Anwar wants? It's a provisional one-match ban pending a full investigation.
-
Aye, for less than 1% of the population (the estimated death rate is between 0.5 and 1%).

I've been asking that question for the last twelve months.
