Some of the fans in the ground looked quite annoyed about Rule Britannia and 10 German Bombers being sung, enough so that quite a few large security staff were called in and some of us got a Polizei escort from the ground. The few fans I spoke to outside the ground seemed in good spirits. The pronunciation of Union was a constant source of amusement (sounds like you're singing Onion Berlin).

Whole day of sightseeing in Berlin today and the highlight was the old US Cold War station on Teufelsberg, which is now derelict and full of graffiti (some amazing, some not so much). When I visited the WC before leaving. I noted some recent scribbling....WATP and FTP. Seems I wasn't the only Bear who visited this amazing place. I made it to Bowie's old apartment too.

Just back at the hotel. We looked better going forward today but are a mess in defence. Jefte may have something but we cannot start with him in competitive matches - far too raw. I quite like Union Berlin. A decent wee club who do their best. Nothing not to like really. I enjoyed a match in Europe where we could sing what we want. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

I decided to avoid the Bear congregation and do some sightseeing today (Bierpinsel, Kaiser Wilhelm church and some unexpected journeys due to construction work on large parts of the S Bahn...somebody could've warned me!). My son and I had a good laugh at some cross dressers on the U Bahn and it has to be said that German blokes really should avoid black leather jackets - no matter how they wear them they look like they're in the SS. 🤣 Soviet memorial will be visited tomorrow, pre-match, in honour of our East Berliners. I'm hoping to fit in Hitler's Schwerbelastungskörper and Bowie's apartment too but the S Bahn issue may hamper that. Mon The Rangers!

I have no intention of ever wearing one. I just think it's quite good for a third shirt - with 3/4 strips released every single season, they can't all be plain.

I'm not a huge fan of Cantwell and think this scenario has been coming but it's weird we're starting with Lowry at 10 when we have Cantwell available. He's much, much better at creating chances (not that he's very good at it, mind you). I said it in the friiendlies thread - something just feels completely off. This season is shaping up to be a horror show.

Yes but that was before Celtc scudded every other team in sight. Changed days - we have to win every league match now and can't start badly.
