  1. Given the concerns about our defence, exacerbated by pre-season form, I'm keen on us bringing in an experienced CB, to add some stability. During the two first halves against Birmingham City and Union Berlin, it felt like the opposition could score at will.
  2. Using 2012 as an excuse is getting old. While it has some validity, we have won the league and reached a European final since then. We need to focus on getting back on top.
  3. We had to rely on Killie to help us win the League Cup last season, which brings us round to a hugely important requirement for the manager and players - we have to start beating the scum regularly again. A manager who can't beat them won't last long and won't win trophies.
  4. Agreed, it's easy enough to ignore posters you don't like (goes both ways). buster's posts intrigue me (the writing style, phraseology and repetition is highly unusual).
  5. Given the general issues with how the club is currently being run, the transfer window (thus far), the performances on the pitch (since March), the injury list and the Copland Road/Hampden scenario, it's fair to say it is an omnishambles. There's just no need to say it on every other post.
  6. Yes and not one of those posts has changed anything at all, which proves my point about the futility of whining endlessly on a forum.
  7. At the end of the day, the only thing that will make the board sit up and take notice is fans voting with their feet. They've made it clear they're not too fussed about our thoughts on goings on at the club (the one exception being the Sydney debacle). One could write the word "onmishambles" 1,000,000 times on Gersnet but it won't make the slightest bit of difference to anything the board do.
  8. Management speak is just generic 'please the listener' and 'avoid being confrontational or controversial' bingo nowadays. Expecting honesty, including admissions of guilt, will only lead to disappointment.
  9. No one is replacing the board. They need to hire more competent and experienced individuals to run things better. I've seen loads of people continually blaming the board for not backing Gerrard after 55 but Gerrard didn't want to sell anyone, so that was as much his fault as it was theirs. Two main areas of focus should be selling players at their peak and reducing the wage bill.
  10. Too far and you've given Cammy ammo to last him another six months.
  11. The missed chances, the poor link up play, losing the ball regularly, diving, waving at the referee and trying to be best mates with opposition players (who all ignore him), for starters.
  12. I think Scotland loses the automatic CL place after this season. Not 100% sure though.
  13. Was their penalty really a penalty? Didn't look like one from behind the goal, as Diamonde seemed to win the ball fairly.
  14. The Germans have been trying to onite Europe, one way or another, for some considerable time. Maybe that's why.
  15. He struggles to play two games a week, so that puts him in the 'injury issue' box.
  16. Let's face it, every defender we have is either an injury or bombscare issue...most are both.
  17. It's a U, not an O. 🤣
  18. Some of the fans in the ground looked quite annoyed about Rule Britannia and 10 German Bombers being sung, enough so that quite a few large security staff were called in and some of us got a Polizei escort from the ground. The few fans I spoke to outside the ground seemed in good spirits. The pronunciation of Union was a constant source of amusement (sounds like you're singing Onion Berlin).
  19. Whole day of sightseeing in Berlin today and the highlight was the old US Cold War station on Teufelsberg, which is now derelict and full of graffiti (some amazing, some not so much). When I visited the WC before leaving. I noted some recent scribbling....WATP and FTP. Seems I wasn't the only Bear who visited this amazing place. I made it to Bowie's old apartment too.
  20. Just back at the hotel. We looked better going forward today but are a mess in defence. Jefte may have something but we cannot start with him in competitive matches - far too raw. I quite like Union Berlin. A decent wee club who do their best. Nothing not to like really. I enjoyed a match in Europe where we could sing what we want. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
  21. Now that Lammers is away, I'm expecting a treble and at least a Euro 1/4 final.
