  1. Mobile phones and social media have probably played their part. Instead of going out looking for a fight, lads just sit on their phones and abuse people online. You can see a similar situation in most town/city centres at weekends ...less people go to the pub due to the prices and you can communicate, quite easily, without being in the same place. It was also good headline grabbing material for politicians and still is.
  2. Of course. We can all aspire to modernity and inclusiveness.
  3. That's Alex MacDonald and then Johnny Hamilton next to Alex Ferguson. The one next to Baxter...I have no idea. But I was born a few years after this pic was taken.
  4. Aye but sometimes it's quite enjoyable being the grumpy git. I've met a few famous people and have never felt the need to act like a wee lassie.
  5. We can try not to upset them with Union Flags and orange strips. And ditch any offensive songs. And we can post pictures of ourselves at Irish Republican memorials, like their MPs and councillors do. And we could embrace their outlook and dismiss our misgivings about unicorns and rainbows. Freedom will ensue. Only kidding. When's the orange top out?
  6. Fair enough. I am in no way criticising you or people who have different views about what Rangers means. It's understandable that we all have our own perceptions. We have a common enemy and we spend far too much time and energy arguing amongst ourselves.
  7. It isn't all about that but for a lot of us there's that aspect to it. And I don't necessarily mean fighting it...more just standing your ground. The Tims have been trying to get us to adjust our thinking or find other organisations for quite some time. That'd suit them down to the ground.
  8. When Rangers becomes purely about football, there will be nothing left to stand against Celtc FC and their anti-British, terrorist loving filth dominating Scottish football. Why do you think they hate us and obsess about us so much, cos it has little to do with football.
  9. These people are entitled to see Rangers however they want. The attempts to airbrush what the club and fanbase truly is is futile and worthless though. Being British, in itself, is almost becoming "far right" or whatever they're calling it this week. Load of bollocks!
  10. Most club stalwarts were proud Scots and Brits, judging by what we can see and read. Union Flags and pictures of the Queen have always been part of the furniture (I'm not much of a Royalist, for the record). People can deny it all they want but there's something undoubtedly British about Rangers FC.
  11. Grown men acting like little girls meeting Boyzone. Shake his hand and wish him luck for God's sake.
  12. Because we are constantly attacked. I've had enough of putting up with it.
  13. But we play them on Sundays often enough, which renders that reason obsolete. The games are on early because Timmy can't behave after drinking in the afternoon.
  14. I genuinely can't believe there are Bears who would see the club turn down additional income just to appease our enemies. I never meet these sorts at matches, oddly enough.
  15. Corruption in Africa and in football? Well I never!
  16. Allowing people who despise you to have power over your decisions, particularly ones that might result in economic benefits, is rather spineless. Anyway, it looks like one of our Hummel tops in the next three years will be orange, so it's neither here nor there what you or I think.
  17. Virgin are showing it on their Preview channel.
  18. We couldn't wear green, pete. It's a high ranking colour in the OO dontchaknow, so we'd obviously be associated by default by our detractors. We can't have that.
  19. Is pink a Celtc colour? Is orange a Liverpool colour? Is grey a Man Utd colour? It's just a colour.
  20. I think it's tacky but if it winds up Nats then I've decided it's great.
  21. All this "open club" malarkey sounds like PC bullsh*t to me. Plenty of foreign RCs signed for us in the 90s. Players go where the money is, they don't care about history or culture. As for how people in Switzerland or Mali view Rangers, I honestly couldn't care less.
  22. 917 - your negative slant on this news is interesting. If BBC Scotland are Celtc are unhappy about it, that makes me completely satisfied.
  23. Not sure, Ian. It rings a bell.
  24. Celtc being copy cats again. Do they ever come up with anything first? They even nicked cover ups off their mother church.
