  1. The yahoo midfield has been getting away with murder these past few years. One wonders why all other club's fans harbour their main resentment for Rangers when Celtc players are kicking theirs all over the park.
  2. I'm dreading every match until we get a good run. We need a win.
  3. I'd be happy to see titles stripped, so long as any other club who were involved in utilising tax loopholes or say, re-employing people who have previously been sacked for extremely unsavoury and illegal activities were subject to the same procedures. By my calculations, we'd be further ahead of the perennial victims than we are now.
  4. I managed fine with all three prior to the internet but thanks.
  5. Tims don't take "No" for an anwer. History has proved that. Perhaps it's time for Rangers FC to take a more stern approach to dealing with that slime.
  6. Rangers, public houses and learning about history - three things everyone should like!
  7. Thanks for the info. Must admit, I still worry about any influence he has at that sort of level. Like all Tims, he's a sneaky git.
  8. Lawwell's appointment with UEFA (announced yesterday) should be a worry to all Rangers fans. I genuinely expect us to hear more about this in the coming months and years (a nightmare we thought we had put behind us). Hopefully the players and PC read about this nonsense and it transmits to our performances against the vermin this season. Even if we can't get a win, stick the boot in....HARD.
  9. Since learning about Tom Vallance's links to the Viceroy a couple of season's ago, I always try to nip in for a pint before a match at Ibrox. It is a great wee bar, the staff are always friendly and there is a lovely stained-glass window on one of the doors, which I believe was put in in the late 1800s (so Tom himself will have seen it).
  10. Sex is great exercise, so that's fine by me. Albeit they'll have to do it with the lights off, in the missionary position, in order to adhere to the club's Presbyterianism*. * I hope that's taken in the humour intended.
  11. Well Dickey Betts was born a Travellin' Man. Life is what you make it and plenty of married blokes might think travelling seems far more fun than being stuck in the same place, with a wife borrowing cash and kids doing your nut in. I don't think I've ever encountered anyone who feels sorry for footballers before (apart from injured ones).
  12. Well I like architecture, historical places and meeting people, as well as eating out, so I'd be fine. However, I'm sure most footballers play golf, playstation, gamble or get up to no good.
  13. Depends what way you look at it. There will be downsides, like not having a home or any real job security. But then there's the upsides - excellent pay, nice ladies will be game and you get loads of free time. Any time Gerard Pique wants to give up on Shakira and £100k a week, I'm sure millions of men would gladly take over.
  14. We were humped. There were plenty of reasons but the main one is Celtic were far better than us. How we rectify that problem would be a far more interesting debate and more in line with the topic of this thread.
  15. Agreed, Steve. That is very concerning stuff. I really couldn't care less what MoH thinks. Don't think he got a fair run in the team but not sure if he merited it anyway.
  16. Fair enough, JFK - a post I have no real disagreement with, although I am pro-safe standing section at Ibrox. I was brought up to always question authority and will continue to do so. It seems the majority on here disagree with me about safe-standing but I care deeply about Ibrox Stadium and genuinely think it will improve the atmosphere and overall matchday experience.
  17. I preferred the days where people weren't so sensitive and could go to the football and lark about a bit. After Hillsborough, Thatcher and Murdoch saw their chance to turn football into less of a day out for lads from housing schemes and more of a money-spinner enjoyed by people who want to sit in comfort, with a shopping bag full of merch and a cup of Coke. It has worked for them and has resulted in Scotland becoming an insignificant backwater, which we have suffered from as much as anyone. Do songs at a football match seriously offend people? Or is it just another excuse for Tims to revel in victimhood and the Police and courts to gets stats, overtime and make easy money? Sticks and stones and all that...
  18. I'm not really a Royalist but what on Earth is 'sectarian' about saying God save the Queen? Also, I agree about the Bobby Sands and FTP but have no problem whatsoever with F**k the IRA.
  19. Most of the old tunes are sung too fast these days. Not sure why but they're better at a slower pace.
  20. Every match against Celtic last season was an embarrassment, apart from the draw at the Piggery. Even in the matches where the score was closer, we were poor, showed minimal fight and made errors all over the park. Apart from Tav and Wes, Warburton brought in some people nowhere fit to play for Rangers. How anyone can deny that is beyond me, given the humiliations suffered last season.
  21. It's one standing position where there would currently be a seat. The regulations in the UK will differ from those in Germany, probably as a result of disasters that have occurred at UK football stadiums. There's no way Rangers will charge extra for those standing, in my view. As it would generally be younger people who wish to stand, they'll probably have less money and as such, that would have a detrimental affect on the whole thing. Hopefully the board want to go ahead with this and realise the atmosphere can be improved with a standing section....although I suspect they're just paying lip-service to it and we're discussing something that has no chance of going ahead.
  22. The atmosphere at Ibrox isn't very good. Even for big matches you only hear a couple of songs (excluding BF1).
  23. There's a wee bit more freedom to stand where you want in standing sections. Younger people seem to prefer standing and when you get a bit older you prefer to have a seat. I'm thinking of the future and the younger lads who go on my bus would all absolutely love a safe standing section. If you want to sit, there'll still be around 45k seats to choose from. A standing section will only hold 2-5k, so you can even sit far away from them is the noise is too stressful. It's important we try to improve the atmosphere at Ibrox because it is like a library these days and several thousand yahoos turn up twice a season and have a party with most of us sitting on our hands. Not good enough.
  24. I think most of us are aware there won't be a return to old style terracing and only safe standing will be permitted.
