Andrew Ellis appointed as a director and Phil Betts resigns

The resignation plus the tax case concluding seems a big coincidence. But as you say it could be us adding two and two together and making five. -
1972. Greatest Ever 'Gers team in living memory...
chilledbear replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Missed the first goal because of the Supporters Bus breaking down. But what a night, also the game at porkhead contributed to joy. -
On SSN about Jelavic and West Ham. Perhaps the reason for the Holt enquiry.

RANGERS manager Ally McCoist is hoping to push through a deal for Swedish Under-21 star Mervan Celik within the next 48 hours. The Ibrox club are keen to land the highly-rated youngster and have already tabled a package to entice the 21-year-old to Glasgow. There are a number of clubs interested in Celik â?? who is out of contract at GAIS and will cost around £350,000 in compensation â?? but Rangers are thought to be among the frontrunners at this stage. McCoist has already told owner Craig Whyte he wants Celik and the money freed up by David Weir quitting the club this week has allowed Rangers to offer impressive terms. Celikâ??s agent, Hassan Cetimkaya, said: "Rangers are definitely on the list for us. Rangers are a big club who fight for trophies every season. "That is a big thing for Mervamn when it comes to making his decision. We have a few options, but Mervan will make a decision on his future by the weekend." Meanwhile, John Fleckâ??s proposed four-month loan deal to Blackpool is in the balance today after a hitch. The youngster spent yesterday at the English Championship club waiting on the paperwork to be completed by the two clubs and is still hoping the deal can be sealed before the end of the week. Rangers have also been linked with Bosnian international midfielder Semir Stilic. McCoist will also have to make a decision on Estonian internationalist Enar Jaager and midfielder Jorge Claros. Itâ??s understood the two players made a decent impression during the 3-0 win over St Johnstone in a bounce game with right-back Jaager the more impressive of the two. Evening Times

Wake me up on the 31st.
-
Wonder if Ally knows he is coming?
-
I could see your point if we were signing somebody!!
-
Getting Aluko signed on a contract should be a priority.

He was different class from other Scottish players for years, and the type of player he was, you would have thought as he got older he would mature and become a real playmaker. Unfortunately he still tried to be the young Barry Ferguson. It still doesn't detract from the fact Rangers had the best Scottish player of his generation, and one that at his best could have played in any Rangers team over the years.

St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza has rejected a pre-contract offer to join Rangers. Ally McCoist confirmed the Ibrox club had offered the Spaniard a deal on Friday after being the subject of much speculation throughout January. However the 27-year-old has turned down the offer amid reported interest from West Brom and Cardiff City. And St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas says the striker is keeping his options open.

Our transfer dealings have been a shambles for a while.

Ally wants to keep Edu, but the Club are trying to sell him. More talk of interference on the football side.

Turned down. http://t.co/37T5oqvJ

Sochaux make another bid for Edu. http://t.co/6Vkvl5bm
-
Ally must have been happy enough for him to go.
-
Surely at their age what ability they have should be well known. They play for their country, teams who are argueably better than Scotland.
-
McKays agent has links with Rangers. There have also been a couple of comments on radio [ Clyde I think ] about interference on the football side. Might be rubbish of course.
-
Why sign them if they aren't good enough. We are existing on a shoestring, we have to do better.
-
You have to wonder if Ally wanted him in the first place.
-
Lucky if we buy anybody, loan deals is my prediction.

The broadcaster Andrew Neil last night looking at the BBC Scotland site. 'What is leading news in Scotland? Looming constitutional crisis over Cameron/Salmond? Or Rangers shares suspended?
