  1. I think there’s a danger in reading too much into a major exception. I don’t think we undervalue our players, I think it’s far more common to overvalue them. If you asked most Rangers fans to value our players you would end up with a £100m starting 11 who were 10-13 points behind Celtic by March.
  2. Agree with all of that. I genuinely think Edmundson could be our best defender soon. I know he hasn’t been tested massively defensively but he is brilliant on the ball, strong as an ox and faster than any centre back I remember us having.
  3. I hope Patterson gets a chance too. I’m a Tavernier fan but when our play gets stale, a player like Patterson can bring a bit of life and energy to our game.
  4. Good work out I suppose. I would really like to add another attacking midfielder though. We can’t rely on the same guys who ultimately fell short last season. I still believe Stewart should play a greater role though and I would love to see Murphy break through but I can only assume Gerrard isn’t going to give him the chance.
  5. I am the unfortunately, and I’m not paying Premier £12 for a friendly. Rangers TV used to do audio too but I can’t see it on the website.
  6. Can we watch it on Rangers tv?
  7. Disappointed at this. Certainly one of our most promising youths. And although I don’t think he could contribute much this season, we don’t have many players like him in the senior squad.
  8. I really hope the club and the fans actually give him a chance. On paper it is an ideal move but loan moves often don’t work out because the club and fans default to their own players whenever they hit a roadbump. I like Hastie, he definitely has an ability to score goals that is rare. Being good enough for Rangers is another question unfortunately. Middleton is similar.
  9. Looks ok, nothing special.
  10. I saw that. I find it hard to believe given his uninspiring record.
  11. I'm pretty sure he is being primed to replace McGregor next season. In the meantime it makes sense for him to play every week in the league elsewhere. McGregor was about the same age when he broke into the team, around 23 I think.
  12. Yeh I guess so. Allowing him to go to Livi on loan could help smooth things over if there is anything in the Dykes link too.
  13. Firth is there to make up the numbers in the training pretty much. He is not intended to ever play in a competitive match, at least not when the game is in the balance.
  14. Used to be common in the north west of Scotland.
  15. Gary Holt says no approach made for Dykes. If there is nothing in that at all he has been seriously on the wind up with his social media posts.
  16. Excellent signing. Couldn't ask for a better backup really. I felt we should give McCrorie a chance as backup, partly to reduce the wage bill a bit. But I'm happy with this. Defoe signing is great too.
  17. Many more score more goals when they move to a better club. Of course there are all sorts of variables but that is certainly the norm.
  18. That is more than outweighed by the fact that a Rangers striker gets far more good more chances to score from than a Livingston striker.
  19. Well he almost scored as many league goals as him last season playing in a far inferior team who scored far less (Morelos 12, Dykes 9). I think he would score plenty, although if Morelos left Dykes wouldn't be a direct replacement.
  20. Interesting. I've always said I think Dykes looks very good. It is rare for a player with his physique to have the technical ability like he does. Livingstone will be under serious financial pressure, if this is true we may have swooped in at just the right time and picked him up for less than we otherwise would have. Lyndon Dykes is very different to Morelos. Morelos is a physical presence too, but all about his goals really. He is a good goalscorer but I have always said his link up play is poor, he doesn't create goals for others. Lyndon Dykes' goalscoring record is far from prolific, but his assist record is excellent. He is better on the ball than Morelos, very good at dribbling and passing, and this shows in his assists numbers. Dykes has 5 assists in the league to Morelos's 1 (BBC stats), despite playing for Livingston who scored far less than us. At QoS, he got at least 10 league assists in his last 2 seasons (at a young age). Dobbie's goals dried up without Dykes. So alongside goalscoring attacking midfielders I think Dykes could be excellent. A modern target man, able to hold up the ball well and set up the attacking midfielders. Unfortunately we don't have the players for this yet. We are set up for a goalscoring striker. Kent will never be a goalscorer and Aribo isn't really either. Hagi, Murphy and Stewart are goalscoring attacking midfielders but only Hagi can really expect to start. So if this one pans out, it will be interesting to see if we do add a different kind of attacking midfielder.
  21. Ryan Fraser isn’t and never would be a target, let’s get real.
  22. The midfield in particular was incredible.
  23. The kits are ok, nothing special in my opinion.
  24. That is exciting news. I haven't watched McLean closely but i struggled to get excited about him. He was too good for Aberdeen but never jumped out to me. A quality centre midfielder could make a big difference for us. I don't think we can rely on Davis and Kamara.
