  1. I think Ross Wilson has taken Goldson too literally here when he said we were lacking hunger.
  2. That’s a very positive update. The Sands one is interesting. It’s impossible to tell from YouTube if he’s any good tbh. Talk of beating competition from Bundesliga doesn’t quite square with a loan with option to buy for me.
  3. The dream is over. I think they’ll make a good profit on him.
  4. Very skeptical of the Morelos report. Some interest maybe but £20m is not happening. January is a sellers market though and the best time to get good money from desperate English clubs.
  5. It’s a no brainer, well done to Wilson for negotiating the deal. Excited to see what we can do in this window now.
  6. Replays showed it was Kent who stood on the United player’s heel
  7. That’s a bare bones Dundee United team, no excuses not to hammer them.
  8. Totally agree. We should be investing in our recruitment and trusting them to improve us. Occasionally you get irreplaceable, one off talents who you want to keep as long as possible (Laudrup, Larsson for them), but I don’t think we have that kind of player.
  9. In short, absolutely delighted with GVB so far. Before he came (league only): 9 conceded in past 8 games 3 home draws out of last 4 home games (the 4th was Hibs who were 1-0 up when they went a man down after only 30 minutes so that could easily have turned out differently) Only 5 wins out of the last 8 I'm not going to look it up but a terrible record for losing the first goal Only 4 clean sheets from 13 games (Celtic were 6 despite their issues) Since arrival: 5 consecutive wins 4 clean sheets from 5 1 conceded in 5 games Never been behind in a game A fantastic start and exactly what we needed, I was very worried about where our season was going under Gerrard.
  10. And we aren’t in the situation we were in a month ago with Gerrard where our assets were depreciating at an alarming rate.
  11. It’s great to see so many players transformed, long may it last. Morelos looks much improved, his assist for Kent was impressive where he would maybe have just had a pot shot at goal in the past.
  12. Fantastic. A gift for Morelos but good anticipation to be in the right place.
  13. It’s sad that in the 22 years since we last played Dortmund a gulf has grown between the sides as football has become all about the top clubs in the top countries and money has completely taken over. We played Dortmund four times in the late 90s. Two 2-2 draws in 96 and a 2-0 win each in 99. Very close games with Bayern in 99 too. Changed days now though.
  14. 18 months till his contract expires and I don’t see him renewing, I would hope that we are very open to selling Morelos. But I would hope that that we are looking for a new striker too because Roofe will inevitably miss a lot of games and I’m not convinced Sakala and Itten are reliable enough in front of goal. I would love a poacher who can be relied on to consistently score goals, we are wasteful in front of goal and Celtic have better goal-scorers in their front line in my opinion.
  15. Made a lot of big tackes and blocks. He saved Bassey with an excellent last ditch tackle if I recall.
  16. It’s easy to get carried away with Gio’s impact after only a few games and forget that Gerrard worked miracles up until this season, but there’s little doubt that Gio has improved us significantly in the short term at least. I really hope he can keep it up, so many positives to take from his first 3 weeks in charge.
  17. Great goal. A bit of class from Kent in the lobbed pass to Kamara, Kamara cool as usual to turn his man and pick out the man in space. I’m a believer in momentum so I hope we can keep this up and get the win.
  18. The draw of London is massive. The likes of Watford, Crystal Palace and Brentford have spent the vast majority of their histories way down the divisions, the same is true of Brighton who are near London. Including Brighton you now have 8/20 EPL clubs in or near London.
  19. There is no way McCrorie plays. McLaughlin hasn't played since October, he deserves it and needs the game time.
  20. It seems a good game for Patterson to play. His pace could be very useful away from home in Europe. Same applies with Sakala, although he should be play at the weekend too.
  21. Unfortunately I very much doubt Aribo will extend his deal if he hasn't already. I don't believe he has been allowed to enter his last 18 months without an offer. With 12 months left on his deal Celtic reportedly got £14m for Edouard, rising to £18m. I've no idea how they got anything like that for him, if true, and you would hope we could get a big fee for Aribo even with 12 months left on his deal in the summer. Selling in January would be too risky.
  22. There are 18 points to play for before the old firm game and we are currently 4 ahead so I’m hoping for a 22 point gap going into the game.
  23. My priority players to keep would be Kamara and Aribo. That’s not to say I don’t care about others but I wouldn’t like to lose either of them. We do need to start selling players and the contract situations of some are worrying. Morelos and Kent will both be going into their final year in the summer and we should be looking to get money for them before we have another Goldson situation on our hands. Fans always view selling players as a bad thing but it should be an opportunity to improve, the recruitment team need to step up and prove that. Celtic found Jota in the summer and have a set price to buy him at the end of the season and frankly from what I’ve seen of him he would have been an improvement on Kent. We can’t be afraid to take risks and use the transfer market to our advantage.
  24. He had their only real chance of the game and hit the inside of the post, another inch and it was in. It would have hard to forgive letting him score at Ibrox in that shape.
