  1. Ross County 0 Rangers 2 FGS: Dessers
  2. Agreed. I'm not an expert but Bill the Butcher was a nativist (see the Milan group using the same word meaning) who was intent on protecting the interests of native-born or 'established inhabitants' against those of immigrants, in this case Irish catholics during the great famine, but I think that's largely incidental. However, it could have been used by Milan Ultras (I don't know) to demonstrate their status as the true natives of Milan, since they were founded before their rivals. Think it shows great creativity and intimidation by a group that self-find these great Tifos and displays, and should be allowed to create what they like within the law. What do that other mob do? Childish effigies and offensive and unlawful banners. Glad we don't stoop so low.
  3. Gang of firefighters relevant, I wonder?
  4. Not sure many would agree with you on that. They tried their best, battled as well as they could, there was no lack of effort, but excellent at defending?? You were watching a different game.
  5. When we play at this level, there are a few weak positions - add Tav and BB to that list.
  6. I don't know if you've seen the game back yet John. Regarding Dessers, the truth is somewhere in between what you heard on the radio and read in here. I think we are all very elated that we end the night still in contention. Dessers contribution to that with two assists, one being a world class, perfectly timed and weighted pass to Matondo, have glossed over some other issues that persisted. His movement off the ball could have been much better and should have anticipated better positions when players needed support playing out or indeed getting close to dangerous cross that he should have been on the end of, especially first half. Our defence worked hard, I mean our CBs. Tav and BB, aka Laurel and Hardy, were indeed very ineffectual on the night, but fully expected against the pacy PSV wide men. They are both really out of their depth against this level of competition. Overall, it was a good game plan executed well. We didn't have much possession, but we did well with what we had and I'd argue had the better chances than PSV. We were unlucky not to have won the game. Danilo sclaffed a late chance that just required a wee dink over the legs of their keeper and defender from one yard out. Matondo truly could be the player Kent was in his peak...and more. He's really been re-born this season.
  7. So what about our 4 new forwards? They seem to be vying for the infamous Van Vossen 'Sitter of the Season' award. On the bright side, there are goals in all of them. I feel they've each shown glimpses of what they are capable of and I think they just need time to settle in.
  8. Yep, between Dessers and Goldson for me. Rabbi, if on for longer could have pipped it. But I've gone for Goldson, he was a rock all night. Tav nearly managed his customary goal to deflect from a very poor performance, but funny that Sima's goal doesn't like doing likewise for him. Dessers is definitely progressing, I am optimistic he'll do well for us.
  9. Two assists from Dessers tonight. I'm warming to the lad and I think he'll grow in this role. I prefer him to Danilo tbh.
  10. Actually quite pleased with that performance. Wasn't perfect but the effort and desire was unquestionable. And two world class goals. We do need to be more composed on the ball, make better passes and our movement off the ball needs to be better. Unlucky not to win though with Danilo chance after the save from Lammers, a poor quality effort from him though. We contained a very good side, we're very much in the tie and we give ourselves a chance next week.
  11. Yes, he thinks he's a forward and doesn't need to get back. Thankfully Goldson has been a rock.
  12. Effort has been there. Dessers movement needs to be much better, what is the point in Cantwell breaking the lines to place a ball on a tee if our striker is not there. I don't think Beale will change anything at half time. Expect Danilo and Matondo to feature about the hour mark.
  13. New media room at Ibrox, I believe. Didn't they think how they could have provided mics to the people asking questions 🙄
  14. I managed to get a copy, it's says we will win 3-0 tonight! I'm off to put my mortgage on it, Biff.
  15. I'd support your idea IF Bennet had not been so vocal about "never Again", so I don't think that's the reason honestly.
  16. Ermm, no I didn't mean that. I agree with SBG, it's likely he will further invest and wants a set on the board to ensure there's an ROI down the road. He's not a fan and therefore that will be his #1 concern. On the other hand, if it's a sign of a takeover, I'd be surprised but it's something that could be good for the club. I think the current shareholders/board have taken the club as far as they can.
  17. Kick-off getting closer, I'm getting quite excited. Let's see what our master tactician can come up with in his biggest test as Rangers manager. The players motivation should be sky high, they should be fit and familiar enough with each other. Bring it on! C'mon the Gers!! 💙 🇬🇧 💙 🇬🇧 💙
  18. No, but define significant then.
  19. Probably a bit of both. 'Significant' investment though....maybe stretching it.
  20. Tav and Borna, both of whom I expect to start tonight are going to have a tough time against Lang and Bakayoko. This is I hope Beale has a plan to nullify those players by doubling down on them, otherwise we'll be in for a long night. PSV will score, so I think it maybe a case of scoring more than them. I think we may need the pace of Sima and/or Matondo to make anything happen (though I don't think either will start) and Danilo and/or Dessers being clinical when chances come along. I'm relaxed about tonight. I desperately want us to make it to the CL, but would be more optimistic about our chances in the EL groups. I just want to see a a game plan from Beale that works, players linking well, a hunger to win every dual, 90 mins of effort from every one of our players, and regardless of the result I'll be content.
  21. @26th of foot
  22. Yes, a case of putting all your eggs in one basket. He's a stubborn guy, Beale, if he pulls it off he will be the hero and his stock will be high, the board will trust him and most importantly the fans will trust him. If he fails (and to be clear, the league cup will not be enough).....
  23. Agreed that any value would be based on his ability for Rangers and Romania pre-injury and potential (he's still only 24). I don't know what fee we could demand... a couple of million perhaps?
