I have heard from a good footballing man in my work who knows a lot of people in the game as he supports a lower division team that the rumours circling about is that Dundee Utd Manager Craig Levein has already agreed terms to take over at Rangers from next season and Walter Smith will step down win lose or draw the League ???

Anyone heard this ?

Good or Bad Appointment if it happened ?

Could do better, could do worse.

Funnily enough, I was told the same although it had an added twist. Levein only agreed to take over as Rangers manager if McGregor, Ferguson and Boyd were all sold.

I think he is an arse aswell but is an up and coming manager who could bring some fresh ideas to the club - Maybe!

such as?

he likes to buy big players as in over 6ft and play the long ball most of the time. watching them does not excite me in anyway. we surely must be looking for someone much better then the likes of him!!

I wonder what the thinking behind that is, I mean on Levein's part?

As for him becoming manager of the Rangers - No thanks. A repulsive bastard.

We are expecting and wanting someone more exciting than Levin, but it's Bain and Murray who will decide who, if anyone, replaces Smith.....

We should be looking at the likes of Laudrup Brothers or Roberto Martinez.... or even Steve McLaren, doing a great job in Holland at the moment - the next managerial appointment MUST be one that excites the fans, Craig levin doesn't but it does reek of a Murray decision / appointment.

I agree and I would not put it past SDM/Bain to bring in someone like Levein.

I don't know if I would have the heart to go back if someone like him ever took charge of us...........
