Recommended Posts

Albeit, I don't have any coaching badges but I thought I would offer Monsuier Le Guen some advice from my sound tactical knowledge.....;)

Potentially, we could be a bit lightweight in midfield but with this formation it still caters for Buffel and two up-front and also Prso could drift back into midfield when defending.........

I would play this formation against most of the diddy teams e.g dunfermline :( because one up front just doesn't work when a team put 10 men behind the ball. Against Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and the scum I think winning the midfield battle is paramount. I would play a strict 442 and take out Buffel and put in Hemdani keeping the two up front against the better teams.

I can understand you're thinking but it's a bit too offensive for my liking.

I can't see the formation changing this weekend although I'd imagine Boyd will play as the striker while Prso may be accommodated elsewhere either on the left for Adam or just behind Boyd for Buffel.

I'd also consider recalling Gavin Rae for one of the midfield roles. His energy and industry might help the spine of the team as he can support both the defence and the attack more than Hemdani.

I'd like to see Boyd and Sebo up front, but I'd also like to see Gavin Rae alongside Clement instead of Hemdani. Unfortunately, that's just too many players to fit in to the current system. I do think Boyd will start, but its a strange situation, I think we actually have to be a bit defensive considering how attack minded Hearts are at the moment.

Play that next week. We really need to take the game to Hearts, big big game. Thsi team gives you players liek Martin and Sebo, who are extremely talented and most of all, hungry. I know fine well this is nothing liek what he'll play, but I can dream.

Been reading my posts Koeman? ;)

I'd have Rae instead of Hemdani because he'll get forward to support the front two when possible and he's much more physical in the tackle. Which is going to be hugely important on Saturday. Have got to include Kris, you can't IMO leave that amount of goals sitting on the bench. He's the best and most natural goal scorer we have. So c'mon Le Boss, get him in there.

Since AM started to deviate from his successful 4-3-3(ish) formation at the start of his Rangers management career, we have been crying out for a manager with a set formation that has been proven to work and get rewards.

We all slated AM for continually changing formation / players / positions etc, and we are now urging PLG to scrap his favoured and successful 4-2-3-1 formation and start playing players where in positions they are not suited to.

If we are going to be successful, we must trust PLG and we must ride out this shacky start. IMO, this type of start was predictable as the players and management need time to settle in and get used to the style of play.

Sunday was the only game so far where we looked 'average' (at best) - the previous 2 games we were superb. Basically, all I am saying is that it is too early to panic and far far far to early to chop and change formations.
