Some more Ellis information:

Have we not been saying for years that Murray has under developed our potential and been very blinkered in his approach towards marketing , in fact he always took the easy option IMHO .

Now I dont want to jump the gun but who's to say this guy or for that matter any new owner cannot better maximise our potential . Or is this just wishful thinking

I think any half-decent businessman buying Rangers would show up Murray for the disinterested dork he is.

Personally i think the answer will be in the same lines as he wanted to do at QPR. That will be to develop Ibrox with other money winning developments as hotel, shopping centre and possibly if he was very lucky a Casino. Ibrox is a pretty big area which opens itself up to such developments.

Senga and Archie will be overwhelmed with choice, as will many of the good Burgers of Govan and satellite areas of untold wealth, Ladbrokes or the Sands Casino, Brechins Bar or downtown Govans Hilton piano bar. Its jobs the Govanites want, not some overpriced poxy pie in the sky Las Vegasite betting shop and Holiday Inn slum, staffed by foreign workers and owned by people who couldn't give two feks about Senga and Archie or their bairns. :sigh:

ETA. silly me it's the timmy Glesga cooncil, who don't give two feks as to anything not green and gold. :box:

We can just move Senga and Archie to the East End out the way of this glamorous development...

And those that do own their homes in the area, will be delighted if such a boost to the area happens as their homes double in worth.

You got it in one, football was the peoples game, it is now the remit of Roller and Bentley drivers, agents who put fek all in and take plenty out, and piss on the people day in day out. Like I said Govan is no Las Vegas and Hinshelwood no Strip, the dream died the day football decided it was big business rather than Sport, you are a customer not a fan and there is a difference, the marketing gurus have ensured that, how many more Portsmouth's is there.

I don't think we need to be so negative about any changes to the landbank...

Tidying up the area, improving traffic management, building some affordable new housing and providing resources for said new development is not only in the interests of the existing locals but would improve the match-day experience for all of us.

As a property developer of some standing, I'd not only want Ellis to be interested in such a project but expect it of him. Planning permission for the area is available so a pleasant, socially acceptable development should attract everyone.

Unfortunately, as is the case with PPG/MIH, I'm unsure how such a development would be funded, am unsure how Ibrox Stadium fits into the equation and unsure just how much money Rangers would make from any changes.

Mibees we could get Purcell as a negotiator, but whither he would leave his Thai bolt hole to take our shilling is another thing, he has allegedly got fingers in all the right places, that's enough I'm getting the dry boke.. Have a walk around Elder Park and Linthouse Frankie down by the Fairfields club...only go team handed not for the faint hearted, and within a heartbeat of Ibrox.

As the life resident of a less than salubrious East Lothian mining town, not many things affect my heart (other than Whittaker's defending) but I agree the area around Ibrox isn't a place that I'd move to any time soon.

All the more reason for investment in it. As a socially concerned citizen, I wouldn't want to see mid-level casinos, extended turf accountants, cheap pub chains and dozens of take-aways but the scope is there for substantial improvement at a reasonable price.

As far as I can see, this planning permission would be the only reason Andew Ellis would buy Rangers in the first instance.
