Mowbray has left: Lennon as Caretaker 'Til End of Season

Recommended Posts

Bummer, I wanted Mowbray to stay on next season as well... :(

It really reflects badly on Mowbray as a manager if he's actually quit the post rather then been sacked. He's not been getting good enough results, tears apart the squad by shipping out more than half of the first team and bringing in 3 or 4 players plus some short-term loan deals.

I guess Tony could always write a book - 'How to destroy a football team in under 240 days' by A.M. Mowbray

Yeah that makes last night's result a bad one - we needed him to be just good enough not to get the sack. I was really hoping he'd have another season.

However, I think it puts us back on an even financial level - they have wasted a lot of money this season, their season ticket uptake is likely to be dire unless they bring in a name and give him some money they can't afford and they have a very hard road to travel to qualify for the CL.

If we get a genuine takeover that pays off the debt then we'll be laughing.

As for the book, maybe he could have PLG as a co-writer... In fact PLG was the quicker to destroy a season and should therefore be the primary author. :(

Luckily they don't have a Smith equivalent to come in and steady the ship - the nearest they have is MON and he ain't comin' back...

i honestly think, deep deep down, celtic fans prefer losing. their noble oppressed complex runs deep - the craving to play the rebel and decry injustice just doesnt get satisfied when they are winning.
