  1. agreed... i have signed the online petition and am fully supportive of all efforts to challenge this piece of populist legislation...it is ill thought out and ill concieved and further demonstrates the depths the snp will plumb to cow-tow to those making the most noise about this (we know who they are) and make salmond look good in the eyes of the media....the wee pretendy parliament strikes again
  2. I suppose, as the cliche goes, the proof is in the pudding. In this close season it seems to lack an immediate impact. The sectarian issue has dragged on and on without ever being properly dealt with and this seems like yet more skirting around the issue. If the dhims are gonna challenge being told to stop singing ira songs and threaten to go thru the courts in an effort to establish legitimacy, it seems only likely that people lifted for singing the sash or waving a RHOU would do the same. Leggo said the other day about it being a vehicle for roseanna cunningham to brandish a stick against percieved anti-catholicism, which is fair enough if the stick is used against those who sing about 'sad orange bastards' and 'huns'...and that, as i say, leads right back to my opening cliche....i cant help but feel that this is political posturing by the snp and they have hurried thru legislation so they are seen as addressing this issue and showing what a strong government they are. I think the facebook bigots will probably be more easily dealt with rather than fans at games.
  3. Seems like a golden age now...Dalglish, Gemmell, Souness were probably the most famous...certainly Gemmell for the goal he scored against Holland which will always be remembered. Then you had the English based players who were all first picks for their teams....Bruce Rioch, captain, Don Masson, Asa Hartford, Kenny Burns, Lou Macari, Martin Buchan (who I think was the Man Utd captain at the time) Partick Thistle's Alan Rough in goal (with his dodgy perm)...trying to think without googling who the Rangers players in the squad were. Sandy Jardine, i think was one. Derek Johnstone famously was in the squad, he'd just scored 30+ goals for a treble winning Rangers team but somehow never got picked for the 3 games Scotland played. Also Willie Johnston was part of the team... a former Rangers player who was with WBA at the time...unfortunately, he failed a drug test and was sent home in disgrace which kinda summed up the whole depressing experience for Scotland. Alas was it ever thus...the team we had looked great on paper but just couldn't deliver when it came to the games...1-1 with Iran was a particular horror story.
  4. Sterling work by Leggo shining a light under the rocks that these mhaggots crawl from...long may he continue.
  5. maybe famous last words...but I think he'll do just fine, he's had a brilliant apprenticeship working with Walter and now is his time...yeah there'll be some rocky moments but Ally's a winner and he's used to winning at Rangers.
  6. Really enjoyed that last night...Mark Hateley scoring against aberdeen to win the league, is one the highlights of my time as a Rangers supporter. I will never forget that day. i was in the enclosure (East - i think) and was right in line with Hateley as he out-jumped our future manager, McLeish to stick it away...what a moment!! That win set us up for 9iar and gave Walter the platform to greatness.
  7. shows them all up for the hypocrites they are.... 'challenging intolerance' what a joke!! 'a club open to all' aye, as long as you share their political myopia
  8. even their manager has told them to stop singing ira songs...seems they only listen to him when it suits
  9. Once again, the old ira-not-sectarian lie is trotted out by those who have no interest in addressing bigotry but only want to make out that they are still an oppressed people in this country. Will Alex Salmond take them to task? i doubt it... If the RC church thinks there is nothing wrong with singing ira songs then it reveals the level of collusion that exists between celtc, the RC church and irish republicanism. Their blinkered views are hopefully seen by the wider community in Scotland for what they are... divisive, antagonistic and offensive. They are not interested in debate...only dogma.
  10. Well said, Craig Burley...I just cant get enough of this kind of article.
  11. Well done, Rob McLean, Pat Nevin and dear old Leggo...the tide is turning and the dheclans dont like it.
  12. What a worm of a man!! Always with the insinuations of bias....there are many reasons I'm glad I'm a bluenose and not one of 'them', his paranoid rantings count as one of those reasons.
  13. This is a chief sports correspondent?? deary me! To make such a point to the club yesterday was to be brushed off like an idiot. you said it, mate ha ha
  14. Hear Hear!! If ever there's been a time to be the Rangers' 12th man, it's tomorrow...this bear will roar his team on from start to finish. We have much to be proud of...time to show it! We love the Rangers!
