Strikers of a better calibre than Boyd on a cheaper budget than �£3million are few and far between. What striker is available on our budget that would score in more than 50% of games, put in a great shift in games he doesn't score in and score regularly against Celtic/European teams? I can't think of any and I certainly doubt our underfunded and underperforming scouting department will know of one either. Needless to say the club will go down the lazy route of either signing no one, signing someone recommended by Willie McLies, or signing a Premiership/Championship has been who had a good season 7 or 8 years ago Still doesn't mean Boyd was deserving of �£18,000 a week in the SPL though. I think our player wages should certainly be capped if the club's to be run profitably going forward from this financial pinch, but probably so that our top players are on 15k max' as opposed to 20k. In a sense I agree with you purely because I want to see the club being run in a way that's profitable even without European football revenue.
