Naismith had a very good scoring record with Killie. If he's ever to recapture that form - the time is now!

Could very well put him in the Lafferty bracket as a player who needs to show more on the park, although Naismith seems a level headed lad away from football.

Big season for the lad.

Agree with that SB.

Naismith is a clever player but, like Lafferty, is better when played further forward/centrally. He probably possesses a bit more technical talent than the Ulsterman and is certainly capable of scoring goals.

Can we afford to keep both of them, Jelavic and Miller when we still lack a proper wide player?

The hope is that all these players have an extra season under their belt playing for Rangers,as champions, and they should know now what is required and that they up their game and start performing at a consistent level. It's a big season for a lot of the players.

Lafferty would be my choice to go. Naismith, for all he hasn't shown his Killie form, is more versatile and has more about him.

I find it hard to decide between either of them as both have largely flattered to deceive in their time here.

To be fair to both players they've suffered from injury and inconsistent team placing which hasn't helped their cause. Time is running out for both of them to prove the claim made in the thread title.

I think an improved lafferty (attitude) is capable of 15-20 goals through the middle. Miller will get the same if he stays injury free.

If we get Naismith chipping in with 10 plus jelavic (should he sign) gets double figures we are on course.

The likes of Davis and Edu are capable of a few plus Whittaker and McCulloch get the odd screamer.

That which is required is goals, we had the SPL all time goal machine and wouldn't match a third rate english mob to keep him, the management are now going to have to spend a lot more than it would have cost to keep Boyd, if it aint broke don't fix it. The management broke it big time.......let's see them fix something they created.

Jelavic scored more goals against Celtic in one match than Boyd has done in his entire career. We are 'fixing it' if we replace one forward with a better one
