Rangers administrator believes it can secure the club's future before the end of the week despite American tycoon Bill Miller withdrawing his bid.

Duff & Phelps' David Whitehouse says two of the three bidders are new to the process, with none contemplating liquidation of the present club.

Whitehouse also claims that a UK-based consortium has reached an agreement with owner Craig Whyte.

Transfer of his shares are required for a Company Voluntary Arrangement.

But it is the only bidding party considering such a process, with the others pursuing a similar "newco" route - where a new company would be formed while the old company deals with the inherited debt - proposed by Miller.

It is believed that the Far East consortium led by Singapore-based businessman Bill Ng, who had pulled out of the process before Miller was given preferred-bidder status, has renewed his interest.

Neither Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy, nor former Rangers director Paul Murray's Blue Knights consortium, who had joined forces in opposition to Miller's bid have returned to the table with a fresh offer.

"We have had contact from one of those parties, but they don't form part of the group of bidders that we've indicated," said Whitehouse.

More to follow.

More info from official site:

ADMINISTRATORS Duff and Phelps say it is still possible to get a takeover deal done for Rangers before the end of the season.

Supporters were stunned yesterday when American tow truck tycoon Bill Miller withdrew his bid having been given preferred bidder status last Thursday.

He cited financial concerns and opposition from some supporters as the main reasons for his decision.

Many fans are now panicking that time will run out to save the future of the club but three bidders are now at the table - two of them new - and the administrators believe they can work a deal with one of them.

David Whitehouse told the BBC: "It's certainly possible to get a deal done. I think whether we can say that is likely, we will be in a better position to say that tomorrow lunchtime.

"The structures of deals that are being discussed vary but all are working to a timetable that they have to be completed by the end of the season."

It's understood two of the three bidders have already held discussions with Ally McCoist. One is local and two are from overseas.

It is also being reported that one of the bids is a stand-alone CVA.

David Whitehouse has also indicated to the BBC that the UK consortium have concluded a deal whereby Craig Whyte will hand over his shares.

I thought Bill Ng wanted a CVA? Does that mean the UK consortium doesn't if he's 1 of the 3?

BBC report suggests UK consortium will look to stand alone CVA.

That suggests Ticketus involvement to me.
