Ya gotta love "Sporting integrity"....

Inverness and Hibernian have publicly announced that they will vote against newco Rangers' application to join the Scottish Premier League.

Hearts and Dundee Utd have already said they oppose the move.

Rangers require an 8-4 majority in the vote on 4 July to transfer their share in the league to Charles Green's newco.

A fifth no vote would therefore consign Green's club to starting life outside the top flight and requesting a place in the Scottish Football League.

Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron said the club would be in an "untenable position" if they ignored the wishes of their supporters.

"We have listened to all our customers and taken the decision and we now look forward to their support going forward," he said.

"Financially, we examined the various scenarios and, frankly, none of them were positive for our club, it is extremely disappointing to be adversely affected by something not of our doing.

"We have also been contacted by supporters of various other SPL clubs, saying they would not be back to Inverness if we did not accept that sporting integrity was what mattered, but this is something that we had already considered and it is not only the integrity of the SPL that is at stake but the integrity of Scottish football.

"It is quite clear, that supporter opinion in Scotland overwhelming supports that view."

Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie had previously said that the integrity of the competition should come before financial considerations .

And on Sunday night the Edinburgh club released a statement saying: "Following a board meeting, Hibernian confirm the club will vote against the transfer of the Rangers share in the SPL.

"This re-affirms the view of the board that the sporting integrity of the SPL is of paramount importance.

"The board is also acutely aware that in making this decision, Hibernian - like other clubs in the SPL - will suffer collateral financial damage at a time of severe economic hardship and uncertainty."

Hearts were first to announce their decision before Dundee Utd chairman Steven Thompson followed suit after a meeting with fans' groups.

Last week, a club spokesman told BBC Scotland that Aberdeen would vote against newco Rangers but chairman Stewart Milne quickly released a statement saying a final decision has not yet been reached.

SPL clubs are scheduled to meet at Hampden on Thursday to discuss the implications of the newco vote.

Bit it bold shows Inverness have been blackmailed.

Thats 4 clubs officially admitting it now....time to not even let them get a vote and just apply to SFL

The various other clubs being septic, and the septic minded amongst other teams fans.

After hearing of the 5 clubs now voting us out of the SPL, no surprise there at all, I was thinking the other clubs could now vote for us to be admitted, thus cosying up to Rangers fans. But the septic fans have laid it on the line to them that if they don't adhere to septic intergrity, they'll get boycotted from them.

I don't suppose the SFA have any punishments in place for clubs fans tryinig to influence a vote?

There certainly doesn't seem to be the same antagonism against the septic minded fan as there was against the Rangers fans coming out with this idea of boycotting other teams.

Really good point.

When we were threatenine boycotts we were accused of arrogance, lack of humility. Now that the Tims are threatening the same boycotts (albeit from a different perspective given it isnt their team looking for entry) there is a marked lack of journalistic comment on the very clear blackmail being cast by Celtic.

Let them have their free titles, they will be marked with an asterisk by this bear.

As we don't count or War Years Titles because not every top team took part, I'm sure Celtic won't count the title they win with us not in the SPL. :whistling:

Surely for the fans of the team that preach "sporting integrity" and "moral integrity".

The thing to do just now would be NOTHING.

Should they really be trying to influence how a member club votes on July 4th if we are talking about integrity.

Am I just being cynical that they are all coming out with a no just as the ST renewals go out for these clubs.

This whole "vote" has been a joke from start to finish. They should've let the guy from Big Brother do the vote.

Will Rangers stay in the SPL you decide.......

This vote has never had anything to do with sporting integrity - it's simply about clubs keeping on the right side of their fans.

The day we lost the CVA was the day we lost our place in the SPL. The fans of the other clubs are quite prepared to see damage inflicted on their own team in order to shaft us. I'm convinced that even if it was announced tomorrow that the EBTs were all in order we'd still lose out. They have been presented with an opportunity to screw us and they're going to follow it through no matter what.

And I'm not confident the fans of SFL clubs will differ much in their attitude should they be asked to vote.
