Breaking: SPL Vote NO to Rangers

Exactly we are in no league so what gives us the right to get into the Div3 before them.

But given the infrastructure and full-time professional players and management we'd outrank any of the teams applying to join Div 3

Logicallt speaking, you're correct, but it'll go down to a vote.

We're about to find out how much logic there is left in Scottish football.

An SPL statement read: "At today's General Meeting, SPL clubs today voted overwhelmingly to reject the application from Rangers newco to join the SPL."

What is "Rangers newco"? Either it is Rangers FC's application, or it is not. There is no "Rangers newco".

Just playing devils advocate there is a spot up for grabs, why should we be the first to get it in Div3.

Because we satisfy the criteria better than any other club looking for that spot.

Agree, if and it would not be a great shock if it happened we dont get voted in at least Div3 then it's truely curtins for football here. But nothing would surprise me at all.

The present SFL vote is to allow us into the 1st div, when we fail in that application, we'll have to vote to get into the SFL properly, starting in the 3rd.

I doubt we'd lose that as I still believe that sky would pay something to televise our games there, with the accompanig riches that that brings.

If we lose a vote to get into ANY Scottish league that should leave us completely open to apply to an alternative association for footballing purposes. Now, we may need to sit out a year but if we had the prospect of acceptance elsewhere then it could be one we could all live with.

We are still not guaranteed to get voted into SFL1 OR 3.

Sad though that sounds and as suicidal as it sounds it is accurate.

The NI league would be better than nothing.
