I'm not sure where his allegiences lie but he played a blinder yesterday, more of the same please.

 

I agree 54AC, I think his game lifted us. Black was impressive to & Ayg.. Ayrg..the Greek guy played great too.

he didnt become a "celtic fan", and i use that term very very loosely because he was anything but, until his parents split up, he was born a true blue like his dad and brother.

DAVID TEMPLETON last night hit back at Hearts for claiming he was a money-motivated slacker – and vowed to bust a gut to get Rangers back to the top of the tree.

The new Rangers winger netted twice on his debut in a 5-1 home win against Elgin City.

 

Templeton had woken up to the headlines generated by Hearts’ statement on his departure from Tynecastle which claimed his head was turned by money and that for the final few months of last season his mind was not on the job.

 

But the winger shrugged the words off as PR spin and made it clear his move to Rangers actually proves how ambitious he is in his career development.

 

Templeton said: “Of course that’s the way they think, but people don’t know the real reasons.

 

“It’s not for me to say too much – I’ll get my head down and get on with it. I’m not too fussed what they say.

“I’m concentrating on Rangers and Hearts are behind me now.

 

“They are only doing it to cover themselves and I’m just looking forward to being here.

 

“I was there for five-and-a-half years and I gave everything no matter what and I’ll do that whatever club I play for.

 

“I’m not going to stop trying, I’ll always give 110 per cent.

 

“My focus is here and Hearts is behind me.

Templeton admitted he was blown away by the facilities at Rangers.

 

He added: “If you look at the fact we have 50,000 fans in the Third Division it shows you. If you look at the facilities we are a European club albeit playing in the Third Division. I’m sure we can get back there as quick as possible.”

 

Ally McCoist, above, also scoffed at Hearts’ attempts to discredit Templeton.

 

The Gers boss said: “I don’t want to get involved – every player who has left this club has gone with our best wishes and we’ve thanked them.

 

“Maybe that should be the way to do it, but I’m not going to get involved in slagging matches. He’ll have dips in form, but I’m not in the habit of signing players with attitude problems.”

 

Gers recovered from going behind to a Jamie Duff strike thanks to Templeton’s double, two from Lee McCulloch and a Dean Shiels effort.

 

Elgin boss Ross Jack said: “By scoring the first goal we made them angry. I felt we had two good penalty claims ignored, but there’s no doubt Rangers were the better team. At times in that second half it felt as if they had 15 players on the park.”

Hearts and their fans are obviously jealous we signed him and in div 3. He played well yesterday with a great first goal, very glad we signed him and will be good to watch him and McKay running at teams this seasons.

 

Yesterday was a great atmosphere again and I take my hat off to the Blue Order who organise a great section in BF1, it's fun to be there!!!

Said this yesterday, it shows huge ambition and is massive challenge. When people are sitting playing Football Manager to start off at a small team and climb up to the top division is satisfying, imagine how it will feel for a real player / team / manager / fans when it happens!

So if our two best players plus our most dependable on - Wallace, are from Hearts, the question is: were they Hearts' best players?

 

Looking at the squad I agree with Ally that it is thin and in addition, this shows we're probably of the standard of a middling SPL club. That should be enough to get us through the bottom two divisions but it will be difficult in the cups once we start to play SPL teams.

 

The Ally bashers like to have their cake and eat it though, so last season they went on about the SPL being much of a muchness with the rest of the leagues and so we should be playing them off the park. Now we're of that standard SPL players suddenly have a huge gap on their lower division counterparts... You have to wonder which it is.
