Green plans Rangers wage cap

Recommended Posts

You've got to take into account that the entire league set up and it's ability to support Celtic's current health will change. they can only be as strong as they are allowed to be and the same goes for us. The top league will look quite different to the current SPL when we get back into it.

What player who would play in Scottish Football these days is worth 25K a week, although I see your point.

For me nobody should be more than 15K.

quite a few. jelavic was easily worth it. mcgregor another, s naismith another. right now we have no one worth it, we are a third division team. for them, i would say ledley deserves his 25, foster, hooper and wanyama are well on their way to being 25 grand a week players, at least.

You will not see another Jelavic in Scottish Football though, and I would disagree on the other 2.

The game up here can't support those type of wages and Green should be applauded for take the first step back to sanity.

we will be like arsenal without the good football quite possibly.

wage caps sound good and the theory is sound but I've yet to see an example of it working in practice.

perhaps this will be the exception. theirs certainly no need to go doubling cash for a couple of years.

Do we have a scouting system at the moment?

I can understand Ally signing guys like Black, Shiels, Templeton and Kyle(??) but how did we end up with the likes of Emílson Cribari did someone spot him and recommend the player?

pretty sure we still have Neil Murray but an agent may well have recommended him.

he says if we are spending a fraction of celtcs and league wise he's probably right. though we might get the odd win.

cups are as always a different kettle of fish.

Celtic will inevitably have their bad spells, not administration or anything but throughout both our histories the balance of power shifts.
