Reading this thread, and reading the BBC website report at 7pm tonight What i will say is, i'd advise everyone to take anything you see in the media, especially the bbc, as having a possibility of mischeif making to it. It would make great sense to get a message out to Rangers fans that would imply the board won, reading it and ultimately feeling disapointment, and just not bothering to vote.

If that is the plan(if there is one), then i doubt it will work as Gers fans aren't going to be fooled by a BBC report. But what it may prove is that this current board are trying every dirty trick in the book to stay in power.

 

There's absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Stockbridge and co have been trying every dirty trick to stay in power with the help of Jack Irvine and some others and not just in recent days or weeks, they've been 'at it' for many months now.

 

You make a great point about this latest scoop from Pacific Quay being a ploy to try and cause fans not to bother thinking it's a lost cause!

Rangers boardroom battle: Rebels' outrage at leak which claims current board at Ibrox will survive agm vote

THE group of rebel shareholders pushing for a change of regime at Ibrox have been left furious after claims emerged that the current board are safe - 36 hours before Thursday's agm vote.

 

 

 

PAUL MURRAY last night reacted furiously to claims he’s already lost tomorrow’s crunch Ibrox agm.

 

And the man who is leading a shareholders’ revolt against the Rangers regime believes the board may have landed the club in hot water with the stock exchange if it can be proved that the leak came from inside Ibrox.

 

Murray urged supporters to ignore the unconfirmed reports of a landslide win for the current set-up which emerged yesterday evening on the BBC. And he and former chairman Alastair Johnston insist the fans must still turn up at Ibrox tomorrow morning to give the directors the grilling of their lives.

 

Murray last night told Record Sport: “Our reaction to these unconfirmed reports is one of great surprise and dismay.

 

“Surprise because the proxy votes were only completed earlier today. Dismay because this leak to the BBC is a clear and serious breach of stock market regulations.

 

“If it has been leaked it can only have come from one of two places. Capita, who are collating the votes, or the Rangers board itself. Either way this is very unprofessional and we will be looking into it with our legal team in the morning.

 

“In the meantime, I would advise all Rangers fans and shareholders alike to dismiss it as propaganda.”

 

It was being strongly suggested last night that an early count of the proxy votes indicated Murray’s group had been thrashed – and that the positions of chairman David Somers, chief executive Graham Wallace, financial director Brian Stockbridge and non-execs James Easdale and Norman Crighton were already secured.

 

But Murray hit back: “It could well be there are people out there who simply do not want the fans to turn up at Ibrox on Thursday morning. But these supporters deserve the opportunity to confront this board and to ask it some very difficult questions.

 

“My advice to them is ignore these reports, have your say, ask your questions and submit your votes.”

 

Last night the club’s internal PR department told Record Sport the story leaked to the BBC did not come from them.

 

And former chairman Johnston urged Rangers supporters and shareholders to make sure the club’s bosses are not given an easy ride at tomorrow’s agm.

 

Speaking exclusively to Record Sport, Johnston said: “The fans and shareholders all have a legitimate right to ask questions at the agm.

 

“If they are not allowed to ask questions or if they are not satisfied with the answers they get then they cannot vote in favour.

 

“If the current board survive because they have the majority of shareholders on their side and the others don’t get on the board the fans will have to live with it. That is democracy. That is capitalism.”

The AGM is tomorrow. Anything before that is at best conjecture, at worst doom-mongering.

 

At the end of the day, those with the most share will get the votes. Had people of influence been willing to look for change, they could have bought shares at this rather low price on the market (via a broker). King and Co. did not, McColl supported Wallace, so there. I've decided to stop commenting. There is hardly anything one can do now, and for the time being, why spend life force on "pointless" debates?

BBC Scotland's tonight was putting cameos up of "those who have won" (sic)

Surely the Beeb need reined in for this. It must be against market rules, and there are people responsible for it.

It's nothing short of deliberately using state television to misinform for financial advantage.

You would think that the BBC are against the Club falling into the hands of the right people the way they are acting.
