If Barry couldn't settle in Blackburn theres no way he'd consider moving to Russia. Especially with the problems another Scot over there, Garry O'Connor, has been having settling in. Don't even see the Everton thing being a starter either. They already have Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill, Lee Carsley, Phil Neville etc in the midfield positions so don't think thats an area they'll be looking to strengthen.
