Almost 100 percent sure it was for gersave though I've been wrong about such things before.

Would it make the scheme any more attractive to doubters if it were considered as part-fan ownership rather than outright fan ownership?

 

If we had enough of a stake to put off the wider of the cowboys who have ridden into town, say, the power to deal with such types via legal measures at AGMs or EGMs rather than vague threats of boycott or a withdrawing of financial support?

 

Fan INFLUENCE rather than fan outright fan ownership in a Club like Rangers may be a more reasonable and achievable target.

Correct. The club could not actively promote it for legal reasons, which included giving access to databases etc but they were happy for the RST to go ahead with it, including giving them access to the stadium.

My view is that it wouldn't make much difference. I doubt anyone thinks fan-ownership is feasible in the short-term, but anything now would just be part ownership. If part-ownership was the only objective, you'd probably lose more than you would gain.

It would need to be a fairly sizeable percentage. I can't remember what is required to prevent a share issue, but while the fans don't have that ability, there is always the option for a new share issue round the corner diluting the fan's percentage. It would be sad if we got to, say 10% through BR/CIC and then a share issue was announced which could potential reduce the holding significantly..

You will not be surprised to learn that that is a point which I have had in mind since the first meeting (and indeed raised in connection with the RST/BR scheme) and will certainly raise tomorrow night. Of course there is an obvious solution but I do not wish to pre-empt the discussion.

It's stating the obvious here, but we also can't completely discount the possibility of another insolvency event and that presents a significant dilemma for a new fan ownership mechanism like the proposed CIC in the short term.

Again an extremely important point that will no doubt exercise the minds of those on the Working Group; if it doesn't I'll make sure it does.
