If King declines, he is open to all sorts of accusations. If he accepts, he is seen to be in a state of compliance. This variation on 'when did you stop beating your wife' is best ignored. It's also a bit of an 'epic fail' from Somers, the board and their clueless PR wizard Jack Irvine because this doesn't seem to have gone down very well, even with some of the folk who were willing to give the current incumbents a chance. Like they have explained themselves to him every time he has asked - aye right! You can imagine Easdale No 1 trying to look intimidating, while pulling back wee Jack's lead (and nearly strangling him with his own studded collar). Mr Wallace would obviously play 'good cop'.
