Hibernian cull begins as Terry Butcher prepares for Championship life

Terry Butcher has started reshaping his Hibernian squad for next season by releasing eleven players following the club's relegation.

Talks were held with the squad on Monday morning, and the bulk of the squad, including Kevin Thomson and James McPake, have been told they are not going to be retained.

All three goalkeepers Ben Williams, Sean Murdoch and Paul Grant have been told they will not get new contracts, along with Alan Maybury, Bradley Donaldson, Paul Cairney, Tom Taiwo, David Gold, Dean Horribine, McPake and Thomson.

Daniel Boateng, Danny Haynes and Duncan Watmore have all returned to their parent clubs after six-month loan spells
