END

He must know the resolution to remove him (and others) has been won.

It seems certain the others will follow and the EGM will be cancelled.

Bus tycoon James Easdale has resigned from Rangers' board, saying he is bowing to pressure from the Scottish Championship club's supporters.

Easdale's brother and business partner, Sandy, is football club chairman and controls more than 20% of club shares.

But James Easdale was one of four directors facing being voted off the board at a 6 March general meeting.

And he said that surviving such a vote would be "a hollow victory for me without the fans' support".

Interesting comment at the end, seems to imply he thinks the vote will not be won by KingCo?

From Jack's man at the Beeb: Chris McLaughlin

This appears to be, on the face of it, a realisation from Rangers - not only from James Easdale, but the Rangers board perhaps - that the game is up.

We know they face a fight for power come the EGM on 6 March. We know Dave King, the former director and current shareholder, is looking to clear out the current board.

This is a start of a realisation of the board that they can't hold onto power. They don't have the shareholder backing to stay in the boardroom at Rangers.

This looks to be the end of the Easdale era and I'm not sure too many Rangers fans will be disappointed by that.
