Walter is a complete hero to me, to the extent that I once fell out with my wife when he placed an order with her work and she didn't get me an autograph or a photey or anything, or even point out that her husband is the biggest Bluenose on planet earth and that he could do worse than stop off in Steelonia on his way home to discuss all things Rangersy. We are delighted to announce that Walter Smith has backed the Rangers Supporters Trust (RST) by proxying his vote for the upcoming EGM to us. We are absolutely delighted that a club icon like Walter has seen fit to entrust us with his vote and to back the fans in our calls for change at the club. Following Walter's decision, the RST now has voting rights over 5,122,096 shares at the upcoming EGM. This represents 6.3% of the total shareholding in the club. RST Spokesman, Chris Graham, said "Obviously we are delighted that Walter has agreed to proxy his shares to us. He knows as well as anyone what damage has been done to the club over the past few years and we are sure he shares our hope that things are about to change for the better. He is a club icon, a legend as a manager, but most importantly a fan and he has been suffering along with the rest of us, watching what has happened to our club. Hopefully the time is coming where people like Walter and John Greig can return to Ibrox to watch their team along with the rest of us.
