THE Sports Direct tycoon will also learn today his Ibrox fate from the SFA as they deliver their "dual interest" verdict.

MIKE ASHLEY is the 306th richest man on the planet, according to the newly-published Forbes list of billionaires.

Newcastle owner Ashley, who also has a stake and a strong business interest in Rangers, has a fortune of five billion US dollars – around £3.3bn.

The mega-money Englishman is set for talks with Dave King, himself a wealthy man though not in the same league as his adversary, regarding Rangers.

Ashley’s lawyers met the SFA yesterday over the charge he is exerting too much influence at Ibrox and an outcome will be revealed at some point today.

The Sports Direct owner has a near nine per cent stake in Rangers, has lent the club several million and in return received security over assets such as Murray Park.

His company also own 75 per cent of Rangers retail.

Ashley’s former Sports Direct employees, Derek Llambias and Barry Leach, are the two remaining directors on the Championship outfit’s board.

Dave King has called for an egm to oust the pair but it will not go ahead if, as expected, they step down before the shareholders’ meeting.

Meanwhile, Bill Gates is once again the richest man in the world – with a fortune of $79.2bn

3.3billion! Och is that all. Although I must admit there are days I do not have it amongst my small change.:)
