Confirmed! Dave King passed as 'fit and proper' by SFA

According to Herald and Evening Times:

The businessman and his associates have been in dialogue with the Hampden hierarchy for several weeks as he looked to meet the so-called 'fit and proper' guidelines and clear the final hurdle between him and a seat on the Ibrox board.

And it is understood an announcement is now set to be released imminently after the drawn-out process reached a conclusion and the SFA were provided with all the documentation they required to reach a decision.

King overthrew the former Light Blues board with a landslide victory at the EGM in March but didn't take up his position at the top table alongside Paul Murray and John Gilligan as he sought approval from City and SFA bosses to hold office at Ibrox for a second time.

Last month, King was cleared by the Court of Session to become chairman at Ibrox expressed hope that the 'endorsement will also provide the SFA with additional comfort to complete its consideration of my fit and proper status.'

King claimed he was the 'most scrutinised candidate in Scottish football history' as the SFA ran the rule over his football and business background but the protracted case is now set to reach a conclusion.

Three weeks ago, the SFA board cleared Murray, who has been serving as interim chairman since the EGM success that removed Derek Llambias and Barry Leach from power, to return to Rangers after his lengthy battle against the former regime.

But King's case is far more complicated as the SFA delved into his tax issues in South Africa and role at Ibrox during Craig Whyte's tenure four years ago to determine if he had breached any of the eleven 'red flags' in their Articles of Association.

With Rangers facing a huge few weeks on and off the park as Stuart McCall's side bid for promotion to the Premiership and the board look to continue their job of overhauling every area of the club, the clarity over King's status will be welcomed by supporters.

And fans will not have to wait much longer to discover if the businessman is able to lead the rebuilding job from inside Ibrox as the SFA get set to make their findings public sooner rather than later.

How about this breaking about an hour prior to kick off tomorrow night

Wouldn't surprise me but, then again, I think the news will be positive so might help us rather than hinder.

We will soon see I guess.

did they specify 48 hours from when?

Chris Jack submitted the article last night for today's ET, so I assume he reckons we'll know by close of business on Thursday.

It's anyone's guess when it the decision will be made though.

Cue various articles seeking attention but whose authors will have nothing more to say than ...

I can confirm that I haven't spoken to anyone at the SFA during the last half-hour and that an unnamed nobody with no links to anything didn't tell me what I didn't already not know about King's position, vis-a-vis his director status at the football club.

Another non-source also didn't confirm anything to me either.

I hope that has cleared nothing up for none of those not concerned.
