Rangers and the loan market: Embrace it

Recommended Posts

It's obvious that loan players will mean less chances for our own developing youngsters to break through.

That's life !

and that's where we are on the fringes of mega England and Sky

if we can tap the English loan market successfully, we could have a team that would do well in Europe

It's only life if you allow it to be.

That's the kind of thinking that robbed us of mckay last year.

There is also a chain of thought in some quarters that the reason we were robbed of McKay last year was because of McKay's attitude and application. It is plausible that Mckay is becoming the player we all hoped he would be because his attitude has changed under new management.

Is there not also a chain of thought that he and McCoist had fallen out ? If true, then us being robbed of McKay was nothing to do with his development or his ability.

Was there a quality player in there waiting to break out ? I think we all could see it. But, as the poster on the gym wall at Murray Park says, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" - I don't think McKay was applying himself as he could have been - though some of that undoubtedly would have been down to the management team of the day.

But I for one wouldn't play any player who was simply going through the motions - although last year, sadly, it looked like we had a full squad of them

Of course but seeing your place in the team taken by loan dross won't help your attitude.

McKay had already been shipped out on loan long before players such as Vuckic arrived. His alleged attitude problem preceded any loan players at Ibrox last year, or the previous years given we didn't have any loan players prior to that.
