Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

Warbs didnt say we would be challenging for the title next season. He said his goal is European football within 3 years. King said we should be challenging for the title next season, which really doesnt mean anything. It is hard to attract big players when we essentially have nothing to offer them, we want them to come play in a shit league with morons who want to try break skilled players ankles in the first 12 seconds of a game and receive no protection or help from officials while the media whoop and cheer these thugs. Warburton has made it clear he wants players for the future, ones that can play comfortably in Scotland and, if needed, be sold on for a profit to keep the club healthy. What do we sell these guy on, the potential of an old firm game? Yeah, that would entice any player to sign, playing against a mob who have embarrassed themselves in Europe at every turn.

The standard in Scotland, at every level, is fucking shit. We cannot pay massive wages for players who do not want to be here or contend with the standard of football elsewhere. We are looking to build for the future. Be patient or be quiet.

No I won't be quiet. King once talked of £30m being needed. Presume we won't be seeing it anytime soon?

Rangers supporters will not turn up to watch substandard dross. Past history proves that. Signing these players only worries me that we'll be struggling to compete with Hertz & Aberdeen which is totally unacceptable

we have the biggest derby in the world, world class facilities, A beautiful country to live in( bar that lot), 50,000 passionate supporters every other week, access to the biggest club competition in the world, A manager who is being tipped as an England manager of the future, players placed directly in the eye of the biggest league in the world who have a history of taking old firm players and games on live tv consistently. Yeah nothing to offer.

No what's unacceptable would be throwing cash around to do all of next seasons business in the first week of January, having players who arent needed at the moment on higher wages being an unessential drain to club resources. We can and will win this league with this squad of players, we will then strengthen again in the summer. King says some weird things at times, he also said he'd spend all his kids inheritance.

Do you think Hibs and Falkirk will hold on to their form and players and that we will lose this league because our current squad isnt up to the task? I dont understand the mad rush to waste money when it is not needed. Is this current squad playing at a level that would be deemed substandard dross?

Yeah that's why they'd rather live in the south of England or Europe, because people love staring out their windows as its pisses rain and howls a gale all day everyday.

we have the biggest derby in the world

Against a team who cannot compete in Europe, why would any player see this as a benefit for the betterment of their career?

access to the biggest club competition in the world

As much access as any other person in the civilised world right now, we wont be playing in Europe this season or next.

Not being confident enough in a players ability to offer longer than a 6 month contract is now deemed as smart business? Smart business is getting a player in who's ability merits more than we paid and getting him tied down so we make a return after he has benefited the club. Guess that sums up how bad our signings have been the last few years when only being stuck with mediocre player for 6 months merits a high five!

Wonder if we will offer money to get the two from accrington in early after the pre agreements are signed? I would deem that as smart business as it puts accrington over a barrel

Why would it be smart business to pay money for players that you probably wont need this season ? I still believe we will get promoted with what we have - so if we don't need them for this season why waste money on them just to get them now ?

So its impossible for us to reach the Scottish cup final and face them? Even if we got beat we could still qualify for Europe a long shot but possible. Any player signing should be for 3 years minimum by the latter stages we should be in European football.

Anyone know if the ftp rules effect us? Can we pay transfer fees?

Haha should have read ffp

This is ignoring the generation of people, not just footballers, but people in general that we are raising - instant gratification is prevalent from what I see of this generation. So the chance of European football "in 3 years time" just wont cut it for many, especially a career in which 3 years is about 20-25% of the total.

You do realise if we win the SC this season we go into the EL qualifiers next season?
