One thing that will come out of this is that we will sign a defensive midfielder come January , hopefully allowing Halluday to move further forward , I would move Law and Shiels out the club along with Aird and bring in another striker , moving Waghorn wide right .

Would send both Zalelam and Oduwa back as they are both luxuries we don't need in team.

The former reminds me of square ball Ferguson and the latter of headless chicken McMinn,

I will ask this, for someone so good at passing, how many assists has he had? For someone so good with the ball, he has not scored and has probably had about 3 attempts at goal since he arrived. His only significant contribution is in moving the ball 10 yards in either direction.

 

He has one assist in 8 league games since the end of August. We lacked a spark, says the manager, where is the spark supposed to come from, I would ask? Making easy passes 10 yards isn't getting the job done, in fact it makes it easy for the opposition to get in formation behind the ball.

That's a bit unfair, FS, and you are intelligent and clever enough to know that.

 

Law is averaging 50 mins/game, Zelalem 75 mins.

 

Law has only played 90 mins in 2 league games, Zelalem has played 90 in 4 league games.

 

Law has not played more than 31 mins in 5 of his last 6 league games.

 

Law has not been a regular starter other than in the Cups. Zelalem has started every game except either side of International duty.

 

Last season when a regular starter, Law was stop scorer with 13 goals and had 9 assists in 54 games.

I think your conception of a midfielder is out-of-date, or just doesn't exist.

 

And I think your infatuation with a "metronome" is totally irrelevant in our game. Give me a proper box to box midfielder who can create goal scoring chances as opposed to a 10 yard square pass specialist all day every day and watch the goals scored increase, and to hell with the pass completion rate and the possession stats when very little, if any, of it creates goals.

 

I know which one is better to watch and is more valuable to a winning team.

Bollocks to all that passing shite, let's get some people in who can run more. I know that's a gross oversimplification of what people are saying but that's also what it feels like a lot of Bears would like. Effort! Fitness! Work rate! And if they can pass, that's only a bonus.
