Rangers will come to regret letting in Dave King...

...how can he be fit and proper? Former SPL chief Roger Mitchell brands Ibrox chairman "damaged.

THE one-time top-flight boss takes to Twitter to hit out at the South Africa-based businessman.

FORMER SPL chief Roger Mitchell has taken to Twitter to hit out at Rangers chairman Dave King – branding him "damaged".

Mitchell has questioned the SFA’s decision to pass the businessman fit and proper given he was hit with 41 tax convictions by South African authorities and labelled a "glib and shameless liar" by a judge.

In an online conversation with fans, the man who ran the top flight in the early 2000s told how he believes Rangers will be left ruing the day they let back in King, who was cleared to become chairman by the SFA in May.

Mitchell also told of how he doesn’t envy King in his battle with Mike Ashley, with the Castlemilk-born director up in court on Wednesday accused of a contempt of court.

Asked by a Twitter user if Mitchell believes Ashley will "get anything out of his judicial review", he replied: "I wouldn’t want him on my back. So yes. How can King be fit and proper after what the judge said about him? And we was on the board of oldco. So damaged on every level."

Mitchell went on to tweet: "Rangers will come to regret him. I’d have strongly opposed him."

Mitchell has been largely anonymous since he slipped from the public eye although he returned to prominence at the weekend by revealing how close the Dundee clubs came to merging in 1999.

Is this a wind-up ? seriously ? Mitchell calling anyone 'damaged' is hilarious.

This was the guy as SPL chief exec who tried to be the tough guy with SKY TV over the TV contract & was told to take it or leave it. So he left it & we got a BBC contract worth about £4m which was about a quarter of the SKY one.

Look up the meaning of the word 'credibility' Roger if you read this

So he bought enough shares with his own money along with T3B so gain control.

He then booted out the rats that still occupied our club.

He gave us the magic hat and SDOW.

He's brought in a board who care about the club and who won't ever take a wage.

He's taking the Fat controller to task and will end us of his involvement at some point (long haul perhaps but he will).

He's gave us our club back.

Yip Roger, I regret him already.

On a sidenote, I would assume (sic!) even if someone deems him not fit & proper at a authoritative level, he could just as well step down as a director (or chairman if required) and still be there holding a great percentage of shares and power, if not in any director capacity. Not exactly like Vlad the Mad or any of our previous "owners", but still. It's not that he's going away if the authorities deem him "unfit" ...

King has already said that if it was deemed he wasn't fit and proper he would put someone else in the position. Mitchell is a pathetic erse who is this weeks useful idiot for the haters.

Mitchell was the fud who almost bankrupted clubs by forcing them to upgrade stadia to a 10,000 seated capacity. A situation that led to Falkirk being refused a play off match that could have seen the sheep relegated. His other "great idea" was to split the league into the top and bottom six. Having two under 21 players freezing their erses off on the bench for entire seasons was another wheeze of Mitchells. The tv rights shambles was his fault.

All that and promoting the fecking Spice Girls sums this nonentity up.
