LOL can you imagine in game betting using the Wi Fi system installed by this bunch of chancers & Cowboys ??? Hilarious if nothing else...... These chancers can ring fence the £300k all they want they're not going to get it are they? Their product is crap & not fit for purpose. I suspect the only reason the board haven't sued them is this mob haven't two pennies to their name.It would be futile pursuing them. Did the bruvs sign the contract with this lot down the Nags Head when they were directors per chance ?? A COMPANY have had £300,000 of Rangers ' money ring-fenced over fears of further financial trouble for the Ibrox club. The firm, 802 Works Ltd, were granted an arrestment warrant by a sheriff on December 31. They claim the cash is to be paid out for an unpaid bill for a Wi-Fi system installed at the stadium. In the latest court hearing involving Rangers, sheriff Ian Miller heard from both sides at Glasgow Sheriff Court today. The Wi-Fi providers, 802 Works claim the football club owe them the money because a system was installed and the balance hasn't been paid. But, Rangers allege that the company breached the contract they had with them because the Wi-Fi is not fit for purpose. They claim that the system does not have the capacity to be used by 50,000 people at the same time, but less than 10,000. A Rangers spokesman today disputed whether the £300,000 has actually been arrested. A spokesman said: “An action has been raised by the company which installed the wi-fi system at Ibrox for payment by TRFC of a further £300,000 in addition to the £600,000 already paid by the club. “Rangers anticipates counterclaiming for the sums already paid. Those familiar with the inadequacies of the system will understand why. “The hearing which is a preliminary step in the court proceedings is to determine whether the pursuer can seek to arrest funds due to Rangers by third parties. “No such funds have to Rangers' knowledge actually been arrested. Friday's decision will determine whether the pursuer will still have the right to arrest on the dependence of the legal proceedings or whether whether this right should be removed. “Any decision on the merits of the claim and counterclaim could be 18 months or more away.” 802 Works say they are entitled to the money because the work was carried out and figures relating to how many people would be able to access the system were made known to Rangers. Lawyers for 802 Works want the money ring-fenced to ensure payment if the club goes into insolvency. The court was told that Rangers has been operating at a loss of £7.5million per year. Various accounts were lodged at the court including an audited report dated October 2015 showing financial information and an account showing more recent figures that were taken from the clubs account system. The most recent figures were objected to by the representative of 802 Works. Solicitor advocate Simon Catto, representing 802 Works said the audited report showing a full year's accounts and a loss of around £7.5million per year should be preferred. He said:"These are the only documents that should be looked at when considering if there is a risk of insolvency." All the latest news from Ibrox Counsel for the club, Christopher Wilson, told the court that the sum sued for is two per cent of the turnover. He said: "The company is turning over that amount each week." The court heard Rangers have repaid the £5million loan from Sports Direct. Mr Catto said that the defence that only 10,000 users could access the Wi-Fi in the stadium and that contributed a breach of contract was "feeble". The court was told that it was "quite clear from documents" that it was obvious there was no intention that anything like 50,000 people would be able to use the system simultaneously. You would assume that Rangers would know if any money has been ring-fenced, wouldn't you? I took the wee fella (who is 5) to the Morton game, I spent half the game trying to reply to his mum saying he was fine, he's enjoying it etc ..... only to struggle for my message to send (general issue in football grounds). However a working wifi would have solved my problem. A huge issue? Not in the slightest. But a small personal thing that would have helped me during the match. Also, what IF he was bored, didn't want to stay and I did? Again a working Wifi link would have made a bored child happy (watching kids opening surprise eggs on Youtube etc, don't ask ............) and dad could have happily watched the game. How many "innocent errors" that paint a negative slant on the club to we allow without legal recourse from this rag? And still we invite them to pressers, give them pies & tea in the press box and first class facilities to file their reports on matchdays, and give them money to run wee adverts for our upcoming games that we dont need to do. BrahimHemdani 1 Posted January 13, 2016 Share Posted January 13, 2016 The wifi before the upgrade mentioned was very poor but following the work (perhaps in relation to or paid for or supposed to be paid for by the Commonwealth games as Zappa says) presumably by this company it improved out of all recognition; so it is unfair of anyone to cast any aspersions on the quality of the work. So far as I know it was turned off entirely at the start off the season and in this day and age even some those of us who have a bus pass would like to be able to get online at half time for example. The issue with kids being bored is also true.
