I thought the SPFL was created to include ALL leagues in Scotland?

Does Ken not then have a say in what Premiership and Championship clubs think?

Good! That'll do me!

He might try but I suspect it's highly unlikely that Ken will have any influence on the Premiership or Championship Clubs, but who knows he might be a very persuasive chap.

Ken has been a Director of (Ferguson Oliver) since 1989 during which time has successfully built up strong relationships with his large client base. In addition to actively advising clients Ken manages the Ferguson Oliver team of advisers and specialises in the Wealth Management aspects of our business. Ken is married to Lynn with 2 grown up children, one Granddaughter and a friendly American cocker spaniel. Ken is a lifelong Brechin City FC fan who has risen to the grand and responsible position of Chairman of the club. Ken also sits on the SPFL board.

Hearts chief Ann Budge set for war with SPFL again as Jambos are investigated over "unacceptable conduct"

GORGIE club furious at not being officially informed about facing a probe over behaviour of fans during recent Premiership clash with Dundee United.

HEARTS chief Ann Budge is ready to go to war with the SPFL after being dragged into fan conduct probes at Ibrox and Tynecastle.

Record Sport understands the Jambos are raging after it was announced the club is under investigation for incidents involving supporters in the 3-2 win against Dundee United on December 30.

Rangers will also be summoned by the beaks after complaints about sectarian signing in their 4-2 victory against Hibs at Ibrox on December 28.

The Gers charge was unsurprising but Hearts have been shocked at being thrown in to the mix despite the match delegate Gregor McKenzie making no mention of sectarian or offensive behaviour - or use of flares or fireworks.

The Edinburgh club have been hit after one drunken Dundee United fan was involved in an incident with a steward after trying to get in to the home supporters section of the Roseburn Stand.

It is also believed the investigation also relates to abuse dished out to United boss Mixu Paatelainen from the seating area behind the dugout.

The United game was a police-free match and stewards removed the boozed up punter at the time - while the dugouts were protected by extra security in the games against Aberdeen and Motherwell.

Hearts owner Budge was last night considering her next move but is on another collision course with the under-fire SPFL board.

Budge has been an outspoken critic of the game’s leaders and was denied a seat at the top table in the last round of elections last year.

The chairwomen - who is jetting out of the country today - is unlikely to remain silent for long given the fury the charge has been met with in Gorgie.

Budge has been quick to criticise the behaviour of some of her club’s fans - but this time is set to leap to their defence.

Rangers are also considering their next step but attempted to pre-empt any SPFL move at the time by insisting they were doing all they could to deal with the issue.

The Hibs clash caused shock among television audiences as outlawed sectarian songs such as the Billy Boys were blasted from the Govan stands in the win over their promotion rivals.

A Gers statement said: “The club operates a zero tolerance policy and continues to work tirelessly via the Follow with Pride campaign while supporting all initiatives aimed at tackling this problem.

“The football authorities and Police Scotland know the club is committed to eradicating all forms of unacceptable behaviour and it is disappointing that a minority engaged in inappropriate singing during the match against Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on Monday, December 28.

“At every home and away pre-match operations meeting unacceptable conduct is included on the agenda with the attention of both the Police and Stewards drawn to the need to deal with this matter robustly.

The club will assist Police Scotland in identifying those responsible for the unacceptable behaviour.”

The SPFL released a statement after 5pm last night announcing the two matches were under investigation - but the organisation went to ground after dropping the bombshell.

The statement said: “Following a review of the match delegate reports, the SPFL has instructed that formal investigations be undertaken in relation to the recent Rangers v Hibernian and Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United matches, where incidents of unacceptable conduct have been reported.”

“The SPFL is committed to addressing unacceptable conduct where it occurs.”

Hearts are also believed to be unhappy at not receiving any official documentation regarding the investigation having only been informed over the phone before being passed the SPFL statement by the media.

The SPFL have already been hammered this week after announcing plans to go to the government for £4m to bring in face recognition technology to identify troublemakers and the prospect of inviting Welsh and Northern Irish clubs into a revamped Challenge Cup has also been criticised.

I think they would get plenty of witnesses. What I would like to see is them getting a neutral person who has no idea what the Billy Boys is and ask them to write down what is being sung. I have a inclination that all these shocked people are hearing what they want to hear.

It's ironic that the biggest crowd and best atmosphere of the Scottish Football League season is what they are investigating.

All I've heard from the neutral 3rd parties who were at or watched the game was that it was a great atmosphere. They would have been mainly watching the football rather than noting down lyrics for later examination to see if they are offended.

Offense is subjective but in Scotland we have the 'professionally offended' (PF) who are often louder in their condemnation than was what they are complaining about. Thing about the PF is that they aren't really offended at all but want to draw attention to something and for action to be taken. Many of those shouting "I'm offended" are telling lies or have been wound up by the ongoing media circus to the point where they feel pressure to say ''I'm offended".

If you look around at the many real problems in the UK and beyond and think about perspective, these pantomines that exist in Scottish football and the hullaballoo that surrounds them is laughable, well at least until they put you in jail for a sing song at the football.

To sanitise football to the extreme would be to kill it but it seems as though the UK is having a pretty good go at trying to control many aspects of daily life and fitbaw north of the border is becoming a flagship. If you could go back in time and show the society of say 1976 the legislation passed in 2010 they would think you writing for an alternative and dark comedy show.

Today there is too much incompetence, agendas & dumbed down sheep and too little independent thinking, so society drifts into an ever darker place.

Does Chris Graham not know why teams don't get investigated if they're represented on the SPFL board?

Maybe just as well he's no longer on the Rangers board

Of course he does. Whilst your response looks to be clearly rhetorical.... Chris's tweet was obviously covered in sarcasm.

Mr Graham's tweet was indeed sarcastic but as you have agreed it was based on a false premise or rather two false premises.

Am I missing something here? What was wrong with Chris Graham's tweet?

It's got absolutely zero to do with who's on the SPFL Board, on the contrary the administration would want to go out of their way to ensure there are no possible grounds for an accusation of that type of bias.

I'm not sure what you base that statement on but the evidence would suggest it's incorrect both in this instance and their treatment of Rangers over the past 4-5 years.

The implied comparison was between a cup tie which is organised by the SFA and subject to their rules and a league match organsised by the SPFL and subject to their rules; and Mr Graham appeared to be ignorant of the fact that the home team is responsible for the conduct of all fans within the stadia.

I base my opinion of the SPFL Administration on my knowledge of the people involved particulalry Ian Blair and Neil Doncaster.
