I had presumed without any base in expert knowledge that this type of action might be taken after criminal proceedings dependent on findings.

I suspect our board are attempting to have the contracts currently in place torn up without delay. Post criminal trial there can be appeals, etc if guilty verdicts are returned. Rangers at the moment can raise a civil action to protect their own interests as they would not be alleging criminal behaviour.
