Pictures DON’T tell story of final shame

Recommended Posts

I don't get how anybody needed to have their minds changed. Despite sky declining to show the worst of it what else was needed to convince anybody that within 10 seconds of the final whistle there were thousands of them pouring on to the pitch and charging towards the Rangers end?

If they hadn't done that there would have been no one who wasn't supposed to be there on the pitch and even if they had waited till Rangers players had left the pitch and then more or less stayed in their own half again there would have been no one else on the pitch. Right from the start when it became clear a fantasy version of happy dancing little munchkins was taking shape I always felt it would be unsustainable and that reality was always going to come to the fore.

There can be no denying this was a horrendous display by their fans and I shudder to think what the outcome would be if they did exactly the same thing during a Euro match. Think UEFA would be talking about exuberance if opposition players were being assaulted in one of their tournaments? It's ludicrous.

After a week of full on spin and media attention making every effort to distort the truth, from Police Scotland, those at Holyrood to every downmarket Hack that felt the need.

The truth was always going to be there for all to see, should they wish to look. However mud sticks and again they have gone out their way to fabricate stories blatantly tarnishing the supporters and the club to the point we are now, thankful that someone is highlighting the truth.

Maybe I'm the only one, but it's a sad day and a portrait of how we are held in contempt when Andy Walker is the only one, it would seem, making a case for the truth to be heard.

So far, so good: there seems to be some large degree of revisionism with respect to the events within the National Stadium, even from Rangers haters.

May we expect a retraction from the Record, and its football fabulist, Mrs Hamilton, of its remarkable story of post match, extra Stadium behaviour?

I should like to see a comprehensive apology from that comic, and its employee, for publishing a confection of unverified, unverifiable, nonsense.

If it wasn't for the lady's clear bigotry, one could put this down to a mere error, or lapse in judgement. The fact that she has an obvious agenda,

identifies her "story" as something quite sinister. It is known as "black propaganda".

To suggest that Rangers supporters, and their feral children, with (para?) military precision, effectively Kettled the police on Cathcart Road,

allowing those within Hampden to wreak havoc on the exuberant Hibernians is an insult to our intelligence, and an abuse of privilege.

It amounts to an abuse of the position of the press, an abuse of its influence in opinion forming, an abuse of what is often referred to as the

"Power of the Press", and all done without let or hindrance, and with no professional or social responsiblity whatsoever.

As we know, power without responsibility is the prerogative of one trade, and one trade only: that of the harlot.

RTV shut down fairly quickly after the final whistle though Ian

Ok mate, never knew that,it's almost the same tactic from Sky/BBC when the Hooped horrors disrupt the minutes silence the mics get turned down!,the main point is the Hibs fans stormed the pitch,I'm certain our board will not let it go and will push for answers!

Cowan and Cosgrove were guests at the Scottish Disabled Supporters Association AGM at Hampden today.

Repeated what they said on the radio namely they were not aware of the facts and they only heard Petrie's radio interview with Chick Young and hadn't seen the SKY interview.

They appeared to show genuine regret as they realised last week reflected badly on them.

Comforting to read that mate, sometimes people can be so hateful of something it blocks them from realising the truth, seems to be a corner is being turned at tortoise pace.

Think that's a bit unfair on Cowan - think some on here last week were saying Cowan was disgusted by the Hibs fans behavior.

In what way has Cosgrove changed his tune ?

Cowan was having a go a Cosgrove for his attitude on the show after the game.
