Celtic fans rage at club after being charged up to £49 for Rangers match

Recommended Posts

CELTIC fans have vented their fury online after being charged up to £49 to attend next month's Old Firm derby.

Concession season ticket holders can buy the gold-dust briefs for £30, while students and overseas holders must fork out £40.

Hoops fans can also upgrade concession tickets for use by an adult for a whopping £49.

The move has angered supporters who have already splashed out on season books.

@davieohear83 wrote on Twitter: "Absolute scandalous £49 quid. Cheaper to watch Champions League than watch a team that's just came up from Championship."

@celticcolin1967 added: "Those prices total disgrace. My sons book is £50 so how can a game against new club be £30. Sickening."

While @srooney88 commented: "30 for kids and 49 for adults, c'mon Celtic this is just nonsense. This is a total rip off and taking advantage of fans."

However, fans were warned the games against Rangers wouldn't be valid in the terms and conditions of their purchase.

It states that entry to home matches for youth and student season tickets "include all home SPFL league matches excluding any matches against Rangers FC."

The Scottish Sun has contacted Celtic for comment.

Last season Old Firm fans were asked to stump up just £18 for the Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Hampden.

The Hoops host Glasgow rivals Rangers at Parkhead for the first time since 2012 on Saturday September 10.

Supporters have until Tuesday August 23 to purchase their tickets.

Some of the comments are hilarious:)

I find it amusing.

And a brand new team at that? They expose themselves as total idiots while not even knowing they're doing it.

These prices are agreed by both clubs, both clubs taking the piss IMO. Still they know the fans will pay up, only one way to end this exploitation.

Good PR if we don't follow suit in the home game. Makes us look good makes them look even worse than this gouging currently does.

I'm pretty sure that both clubs agree on prices and that we will charge the same for Ibrox. What I did not realise is that thier normal ST does nor include the games against us, no wonder their no happy. It's just out and out greed.
