A qucik check reveals that despite us being away for 5 years, the Grand Dons - surely the best challenges to the Gallowgate Galacticos - have won the League Cup in 13-14, on penalties against the Mighty ICT. And that's it. Before that, their list of glorious appearances in this competition is indeed monumental, thumped 3-0 by the Scum last season and ... then we have to go back 1999/2000 again, when they lost agin to the Scum 2-0.

 

A quick look at the list of finals reveals that Aberdeen last appeared in a Scottish Cup Final in 1999/2000, when they were horsed 4-0 by us.

 

Going by that record, Jack could join ICT, Dundee United or Hibernian, who have been far more prolific in any realistic cup competition ...

On a sidenote, you'd hope that our fans would rise above your average football-supporter grunt when it comes to commenting on players potentially leaving. Not least in cases where it sure isn't warranted. But probably it is just a sign of the times.
