You could argue if its Fergusons article without the above quote then we have a debate and he could have a point - yes he gets a month in the season to see how he performs. Barry is named as a significant recipient of an EBT. Cosgrove et al will not be slow to remind him, constantly. If he is looking for a precedent, then look to Billy Dodds. He had a bit of foresight, used his Scotland on Sunday column to declare, "I no longer consider myself to be a Rangers supporter". A public declaration of self cleansing did him NO favours.
