The broadcaster has snapped up the Rangers legend as a pundit for the new season. McCoist enjoyed lucrative TV work before moving into coaching and management And the news was broken on Twitter by former Celtic striker Chris Sutton, one of the most outspoken ex-players on BT’s books. He wrote: “Ally McCoist will be joining the BT team this season.” In April, McCoist took on punditry duties for Sky Sports which saw him go back to Ibrox for just the second time since he was sacked by Rangers. He was in the studio alongside John Collins and David Tanner as Celtic beat Gers 5-1. McCoist, 54, was Walter Smith’s assistant before becoming Rangers manager in 2011. He guided crisis-hit Gers to consecutive promotions from League Two and League One before being axed in December 2014.
