RANGERS fans would welcome Mike Ashley back into the Ibrox fold, according to Alan Brazil.

 

The Celtic-daft former Scotland striker claims some Gers supporters are so disillusioned by the current regime they wouldn’t shoot down a return for the Sports Direct tycoon.

 

 

Speaking on his talkSPORT breakfast show, Brazil told Arsenal legend Ray Parlour: “Another classic for you…Mike Ashley.

 

“Rangers fans couldn’t wait to get him out the door“But I know the way things are going at Rangers at the moment they’d have him back tomorrow – the ones who are in the know.”

 

Just four months ago the Light Blues faithful unveiled a ‘Good Riddance Mike Ashley’ banner at Ibrox, as Pedro Caixinha’s side faced Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League.

 

It came days after Gers chairman Dave King struck a deal to rip up their seven-year agreement with Ashley’s Sports Direct and announced a new one-year agreement on more favourable terms.

 

King – taken to court by the Takeover Panel last week – also hailed the end of Ashley’s influence at Rangers.
