Tomorrows AGM

I'm not sure we should need Europe to break even - it's too risky.

I've always thought that we should break even without Europe, and structure our wages to be a bit lower basic and include larger bonuses for it. If a player doesn't like it, then he's not confident in his ability or ambitious enough.

Football is a results business and I think wages should be structured more around that as income varies wildly with it.

The balance of that should go to the transfer kitty - or pay off the previous year's if we speculate to accumulate somewhat.

IIRC, the accounts contained a line about projections being based on qualifying for at least the EL group stages in 3 of the next 5 years.

If bookies were to offer a price on that happening, I'd think you'd get somewhere between 5/1 to 10/1.

The importance on getting the next managerial appointment and subsequent recruitment right is immense.

Here's the take of six cylinder intellectual Keef Jackson;

Jackson: King insulting Rangers fans' intelligence with manager comments

Record Sport chief football writer Keith Jackson has had his say on developments so far at today’s Rangers AGM.

Keith says...

“Dave King remains a curious and complex character. Clearly he possesses an incredible brain for business but, at the same time, he also displays great difficulty connecting emotionally.

“To deny it was a mistake to appoint Pedro Caixinha and then justify the five week search for a replacement by saying it takes three months for him to hire executives in South Africa, he’s not just playing a dangerous game with the Rangers support. He’s insulting their intelligence.”

Fan: Union Bears need more support

An elderly fan gripes about his treatment at the hands of security staff at Ibrox and Stewart Robertson vows to take it up with him later.

Finally, a younger fan - who gets a cheer when he reveals his name is Derek Johnstone - asks for greater support of fan group Union Bears because he says Ibrox is “a library” and they’re the only one creating an atmosphere.

Robertson adds: “We’re all fans. My door’s always open in terms of engagement.”

James Blair closes the meeting at 11.40 and the fans depart after a round of warm and polite applause.

What would Mr.Jackson say the Daily Record does with the Rangers support ?

DK says Graeme Park was "falsely alleged to have had undue influence" in PC's appointment. Decision was made by full board

Thats a full out lie from King. Very disappointing. While the decision was ratified by the board, this was a done deal by Graeme Park from day 1. Information 100% accurate from an involved party.

Many thanks to Ian for the updates. I'm glad I didnt waste a couple of hours going to it though!

The only interesting things said were the comments by Allen, and even that didnt go far enough.

Union Bears have enough room for their membership, and stand all through the game anyway so why bother taking out the seats at a huge cost to our club?

An awful lot of words without sayng anything .Poor stuff yet again and Kings answers to the take over panel questions were pretty pathetic

His defence means that it was hardly likely he would go into detail re. the TOP question.

A better one may have centered on if the board were prepared for any potential implications for club.

Wrt to the current manager search, it was always going to be a general answer without much detail.

Fans wanting names or exactly when an annoucement would be made were always onto plumbs.

Answers wrt the Pedro Caxinha appt. and time at the club were unsatisfactory, as nearly everything that came with it were.

Key point being....have they learnt their lessons and will that be reflected in the upcoming appointment, it's process and how it dovetails into a longerterm plan (Mark Allen seemed to touch upon).
