It is the summer hols and the priority has been maintaining one's fluid levels with lashings of ginger beer. This thread has been in abeyance for three-four weeks; however, I have kept my ear close to the ground, the rumbles from the bowels of PQ have sent ripples the length of the Clyde. Here, in darkest, deepest Lanarkshire we are hearing the current dispute between BBC Scotland and their beloved Sellik is continuing. The broadcasting signs have been pretty obvious, the ever garrulous RAB Cosgrove has spent the last three weekends doubling down on the Rangers.

 

When speculation began as to ra Sellik's managerial replacement for Ange, a name that began as a whisper, Brendan Rodgers emerged loud from the cacophony. BBC Scotland's Chief Sports Writer, Tom English penned an article pointing out the alacrity of Rodger's last departure from Paradise and highlighted the ensuing fractious relationship left between Rodgers and ra Sellik faithful. Peter took exception and when Sellik held their stage managed press conference to reveal Brendan, BBC Scotland were banned from attending. You can imagine the ensuing collective spluttering?

 

Of course, PQ apologised profusely and assured listeners and viewers they were doing everything to resolve the situation. This last month, PQ has not sent a reporter to any of Sellik's pre-season friendlies because the club has made it clear they are not welcome. Yesterday, they were banned from Brendan's pre-match presser and, today who knows? Liam might not get to squeal his regular approval for his Father's team. Apparently, BBC Scotland has apologised again and again but to no avail. Peter demands Tom English retract, revise and apologise for his correct jottings.

 

RAB Cosgrove took umbrage with PQ Gaffers sending Jane Lewis to Ibrox for our Saturday friendly against Hamburg. His favoured phrase of late has been, "in the interests of balance", if you provide a service for one half of the Old Firm, the other side must receive similar, "in the interests of balance". Funny that, in Steven Gerrard's three years plus tenure at Ibrox, BBC Scotland does NOT possess one single second of recorded video or audio tape of the Liverpudlian's time. Anyways, RAB has been shouting these last weeks about PQ's coverage. It began with St Johnstone had defeated Hamburg 3-0 when it mattered in the Fairs Cup(1971) and the Germans were in the top Division of the Bundesliga in those days, then he told of Saints under 18s defeating Rangers 3-zip at Auchenhowie in a pre-season opener and, finished with a fulminating, "is the ban over then"?

 

A wee reminder Rangers withdrew the press credentials from Chris McLaughlin, he could continue to attend but not in the press box. BBC Scotland being banned by Rangers is an oft repeated lie by BBC Scotland, a truly manufactured grievance. BBC Scotland being banned by ra Sellik, not mentioned today by BBC Scotland. I will further remind you what the then BBC Scotland's Chief Football Writer said about Chris McLaughlin, "Chris is a shill for Celtic football club". Big Dick, Liam McLeod, Martin Dowden, RAB, ....... et al decided to back their colleague and were most comfortable providing no coverage for license fee paying Rangers supporters over a period of nearly five years.

 

BBC Scotland are providing live radio commentary from ra Stade de Gadd today and, Liam is back squealing as the Championship flag is unfurled. He is accompanied by Pat Bonner(only covers Sellik games), Martin Dowden(revealed by Annie McGuire as, "a good Celtic man") and, Michael Stewart(former Sellik TV co-commentator). As you can see, a cowed PQ are more than happy to give ra Sellik what they demand. Tom English will be kept well away until he is prepared to get on his knees in front of Peter.

Immediately after the final whistle as fellow Dandy, Rob MacLean blowing inane platitudes as Rangers players and Rangers supporters celebrated in the background; the production cut back to the PQ studio and, jonnersinho(honestly his Instagram username) spoke over a prepared graphic. He said and, it read : Sturm Graz 1 PSV 3(2-7 on aggregate). 

 

Both Alan Hutton and Neil McCann sat on the sofa across from wee Jonners and looked askance as the Rangers happy mood balloon was deliberately deflated. The Producer of Sportscene is Eamonn Donohoe and with ra Sellik  not talking to PQ because of fellow Irishman, Tom English talking the truth about another Irishman, Brendan Rodgers, it is most important the streamers and party hats remain boxed reference Rangers success. PQ continually claim to support all Scottish clubs in European action but, are desperate to distance themselves from any attachment or association with the wrong type of Scots ie Rangers.

 

There are Scots positives that were not mentioned last night. The national coefficient has been improved again and defeating Swiss opposition in the tie means we have stymied the country directly behind Scotland in their attempts to take our current ninth position. The Celtic state of mind is all that matters at PQ, assuaging Peter is uppermost. Even that graphic, a national broadcaster prepared to support all Scots clubs in Europe might have considered a history of the head to heads between Rangers and PSV  in Euro' competition? Currently, it reads played eight, Rangers have won four, drawn three and, lost one. Just too positive.

 

Martin Watt's report on the BBC Scotland website is akin to a most grudging flick through a thesaurus. Martin utilised, "squeezed, fraught, salvaged and, slender" in his opening two sentences. The fourth sentence rushed to lionise PSV who were "scintilating" whilst, "thumping" the Austrians. Martin has featured on this thread in the past, his high point coincided with ra Sellik's high point in last year's Champions League. He waxed lyrical(not alone at PQ) as ra green'n'grey hooped horrors dominated Real Madrid at ra Stade de Gadd in the first half. This culminated with Sellik hitting the post then slumping to a 0-3 home defeat. 

 

Perhaps Martin will inform us of ra Sellik's contribution to the national coefficient these last five years? I note his colleague, Liam McLeod told us in part last week during the Rangers - Servette game at the Stadium. He talked about both Rangers and Sellik's impressive contribution in the last five years, reeling off Porto, Galatasaray, Dortmund, .... etc for Rangers. His only contribution for ra Sellik was Napoli. I looked it up on Google, the games were in the Autumn of 2017. This is 2023, maybe i am struggling with arithmetic but that is in excess of five years past. We cannot argue that Sellik's two points in last season's CL was two points better than us but, we can offer confident arguments on relative national coefficient contributions.

 

Anyways, to Jonners and his Producer; Rangers supporters will continue to hum the Chairman of the Board's 1970 hit single, 'Give me just a little more time'.

Look out for the sea change in attitudes if the Edinburgh teams can muster up some kind of result tomorrow.I still can't believe there are people still paying a licence fee to that shower.

Very eloquently summarised by @26th of foot. Sutherland was in a high state of elation at HT. Just couldn't quite hide his expression of glee while he cross examined the ex-Rangers pairing of McCann & Hutton.  Gloatingly enjoying both ex-players criticism of the first half performance. Cue full time. Sutherland's balloon had clearly burst, but the full time result from Austria soon inflated his ego once more. McCann, rather despairingly, claimed "Rangers just need more time to get it right on the training ground after Morton on Saturday". Sutherland pounced "There is no time! They play on Tuesday!" was his delighted squeal.

Michael Stewart was speaking to BBC Scotland's Sean McGill.

 

Last Saturday's 'Off the Ball' had two guests, Bobby Bluebell(Robert Hodgens) and Graeme McDowell are both Sellik supporters. Bobby penned a song once alongside his then girlfriend, Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama; 'Young at Heart' has ensured the Bluebells will continue as far as a Renault Clio will carry them. Graeme penned a book entitled, 'the System', we await Rosseau's review? Bobby utilised his position at the flowing trough to promote his fellow bandmates, the McLuskey brothers as they are doing the music for the revamped stage version of ra Sellik Story. He did not mention his Bassist, Lawrence Donegan; probably because Lawrence prefers a low profile these days.

 

Lawrence is married to long term BBC Scotland Drivetime Presenter, Maggie Shiels. Lawrence left the music scene to become Sellik Director, Brian Wilson's Westminster Research Assistant when he was a junior Cabinet Minister. Maggie heads up Google News these days in between playing Poker. You can see the connections and influence that allows someone to sit of an evening staring at the Orwell Prize sitting on the mantlepiece. The Rangers Tax Case Blog was awarded the Orwell Prize and someone made it's in excess of one million impressions disappear over night. Indeed, RAB Cosgrove(username - Sarah Leyden) has demanded on a number of occasions that Rangers supporters forget all about the RTC Blog. 

 

Anyways, Lawrence pushed the preferred melody and Tam the Token and RAB were happy to harmonise with cries, "we need balance". It is like, 'we want to hear from Rangers supporters'; no they don't but feel they have to say it whilst extending the ridicule and fun. They had their weekly competition, if the answer is, 'tectonic plates', what is the question? Regular contributor, Tony Allen won with the following, "if the SPFL announced a new sponsorship deal with the earth's crust, who would Rangers claim to have a previous arrangement with - the answer tectonic plates". RAB, Tam, Bobby and, Graeme all gave exaggerated guffaws and Tony was rewarded with a BBC Scotland mug.

 

The SPFL's Cinch deal which led to both Neil Doncaster and Murdoch McLennan apologising to Rangers and, the award of court expenses and compensation to Rangers charities needs a Lawrence Donegan-esque intervention. RAB and Tam are always telling us they detest the Blazers, here is the opportunity to press for redress and resignations. However, it reflects well on Rangers thus, on our first mention of the subject, we will broadcast misinformation and reinforce this by rewarding another, 'Good Friend of the Show'. Reporting news or re-reporting news otherwise more commonly known as revisionism is a BIG deal for RAB - he broadcasts a monthly blog on this very issue.

 

As Blacksocksredtops says above, the national coefficient will only be news common currency if the Edinburgh clubs chip in appropriately. Both Hearts and Hibs progressed last evening and broadcast and print news outlets have been let off the leashes. BBC Scotland's website reveals Michael Stewart is a 'Sports Columnist', we await his fawning review of the System? I will remind Gersnetters of his comment on the Rangers - Cinch case, "we should be supporting Neil Doncaster and Murdoch MacLennan, these are the good guys here". It is just as well the former Sellik TV commentator speaks to BBC Scotland's Sean McGill to convey Peter's thoughts.

 

The next ground to be fought over is the away ticket allocation for Old Firm fans. Sellik have knocked back Rangers offer of 700 briefs and, Rangers await the SPFL Board's decision on what Sellik offer for the New Year game? I suspect the Beeb should speak to Aberdeen's Alan Burrows. He announced a reduction in tickets available for Rangers traveling support whilst ensuring Sellik's allocation remained the same for last week's match. The taste of Peter's cheesy slong remains fresh in his mouth and, he knows PQ's fellow sycophants will support whatever he(Peter) says.

 

Ah mean, Tom English has been a bad, bad Bhoy and PQ must show contrition.

The photo is on page 29 of the Rangers - Morton match thread. It was taken after Killie had eliminated the country's establishment team 1-0 at Rugby Park. I believe it will enhance the piece written below.

 

 

The Price of Love.

 

A song penned and sang by the Everley Brothers some sixty years ago, rang too true as both Connie McLaughlin and Michael Stewart conducted the League Cup quarter-final draw at Rugby Park, in the immediate wake of their beloved Sellik's elimination. It proceeded from bad to worse as Michael drew ball number one, Rangers for a home tie against Livingston. Michael looked like he had just been informed that Papa Bear had shat in his porridge. Meanwhile, Connie had just heard her brother, Chris was demanding she once more attach the big wooden strap-on. Incest is a game for all the family.

 

"You talk too much, you laugh too loud".

 

There is a cracking version of the song on YouTube by Bryan Ferry, propelled by Chris Spedding's driving guitar. Connie and Michael's version was on Viaplay but, they go way back together. Both have been presenters on ra Sellik TV, both are across BBC Scotland and, when the refrigerator door opens and the light shines; both will perform a Peter created choreography :

As Rangers supporters, we know we have to negotiate three further games to pick up a trophy last secured by the club in 2011. Our current form suggests tough times lie ahead but, we must thank Michael for drawing a home tie. He becomes part of the conspiracy. Talking of which, I note Tam McManus is on the back page of today's Sun proclaiming Sellik's last minute penalty claim to be, "the biggest stonewaller I have ever seen". Tam is 42, he has been playing and watching football for 35 years plus, the biggest stonewaller ever, really?

Taking to the swally is the way ahead at PQ. Their main Sellik man, Pat Bonner is tea total but he still cannot name the vast majority of opposition players. This does not matter because he only ever covers Sellik games and only watches one team. Obviously, Pat's ears have been clothed and the others paying the price of love too because, none of them have commented on the now usual vile sickening sectarian abuse directed at Killie Boss, Derek McInnes by the greatest supporters in the world.
