If they still have a chance to qualify come the last game, I'd make the change.

It's plain that the current manager can't get them playing and the dynamic isn't functioning. A change might not give the desired result but there would be a chance of a reaction and a chance would be as good as it gets.

I've forgotten the details but they can still get through.

WC 2018 (characteristics)

Generally boring with goals at a premium

Referees warning instead of booking and players taking advantage

First Half injury time 2 or 3 minutes, second half 5 minutes

VAR: some big mistakes being corrected

VAR: selectivity of decision means it's still an inconsistent human aspect at the heart of things

Brazil are Ney Mare and will not win it

Germany are goosed and won't win it

Argentina are poor and won't win it

Italy aren't there and won't win it

any more.............

1   Previous rank: 2 Croatia Croatia 2 2 0 0 5 0 +5 6
2     Nigeria Nigeria 2 1 0 1 2 2    0  3
2   Previous rank: 3 Iceland Iceland 2 0 1 0 1 3 -2 1
3   Previous rank: 1 Argentina Argentina 2 0 1 1 1 4 -3 1

Argentina would need to beat Nigeria and get a better result than Iceland, if they were to beat Croatia.

Nigeria favourites to go through

France v Nigeria is a likely last 16 tie

Croatia v Denmark a possibility.

Argentina players saying they want a new manager for the next game. It wasn't the manager who missed the sitters or Messi's penalty. Belgium's '' golden generation '' is on it's last tournament and they've done rock all either. There comes a time when the players just have to man up and take it on the chin, their squad is bursting with talent but they just don't click because nobody can move for the egos.

And with '' the best player to have ever played the game ''? in their team I'm sitting here wondering what their excuse is.

One player doesn't make a team.

This Argentina team has tons of talent... but it is all in forward positions.  Few teams wouldn't want Messi, Dybala, Aguero or Higuaín in their team.  Their issue is back to middle.  Mascherano is playing CM and hasn't played there for YEARS, and is too slow for that position now.

They could, probably should, drop Messi a bit deeper into CAM, allowing them to start with Dybala - Messi would give them more mobility and would also force opponents into thinking about him running at them from deeper.

They won't go far though - any team that has to rely on someone like Caballero in goal, and a weak defence, will struggle.

It is basically in their own hands now.

If they win, then Nigeria finish below them.  It then comes down to them getting a better result against Nigeria than Iceland do against Croatia.  That Sigurdsson penalty miss could ultimately prove crucial in this group

If a penalty claim is denied after VAR, then surely there also needs to be bookings/sendings off, for simulation.

It’s quite possible to fall without either foul or simulation.

You should moderate* your posts for the forum's sake.  It's blatant sexism.
