Morelos appeal successful: reduced to yellow card

As expected, red card rescinded and reduced to a yellow.

Good news but this is happening far too often - especially to Rangers in the last year.  Time for a mature discussion about why these officials are making these errors which are costing us important points.

Agree mate, has any other club had as many red cards rescinded so often? damage is always already done in the match! fecking disgrace and something needs to be done

Is that at least 4 Red cards now either reduced or rescinded completely, over the course of a season & 1 game.

A thorough analysis needs to be done of cards received/challenged by us compared to other premiership teams, along with other refereeing "mistakes".  Then, present those findings to the SFA/SPFL - for closed door discussion.  The details shouldn't be put out to the public (initially) - LEt the fans know it's happening, but keep the details quiet until decision is reached.

These kind of decisions are costing the club points.  It's all well & good to say, the "punishment" has been reduced, but we lost an important player, in an equally important match.  Reducing the card afterwards doesn't alter the result & while there's no guarantee, we wouldn't have lost the goal....it is less likely if we had a full compliment of players on the pitch.

Absolutely. The failure to show Ball a red was a poor decision. But this decision was more than poor, it was absolutely inexplicable and outrageous. All the more so given the yellow shown to the St Johnston last year for an unprovoked proper kick last season. Big consolation is that Morelos is back and McKenna has got his karma and will miss the best part of 2 months. Serves him right for what was unprovoked genuine violent conduct.

I think it’s 3?

Red card rescinded but the damage is done.

Would there be so many "mistakes" if the wronged team were awarded a point and £20,000 every time a red card is rescinded?

Was it not 3 for Jack last season, then this one???

Jack had 2 of his 4 rescinded. The Stevie May one was a clear red but the Hamilton one was an incredibly harsh second yellow. The kind that really highlights the total lack of consistency with these kinds of decisions.

I’d like to know what action is being taken against a linesman who clearly saw the McKenna barge but denied it and what action is being taken against the referee who it seems did not adequately consult his linesman or if he did what did his linesman tell him. One of these two is a downright cheat. You cannot see the Morelos reaction without seeing the barge. They happened almost simultaneously. This should not be let go.

Gerrand did call this in his after match assessment....
