Despite the many claims to the contrary and socialism creating a religion around it, people are not equal. But definition, for every above-average IQ there must be a below-average IQ. It’s in the latter category that the gutter media finds a willing audience. It’s actually worse than that because too many who could make discerning judgements are indolent bastards who can’t see past their next indulgence. It does no harm to shame them now and again though. ?

Yeh I think the Sun just wanted to be the first to get that story out there but there's no chance of it happening, he's not a Brendan Rodgers style striker at all

Rangers demand at least £20m for Alfredo Morelos to match Celtic’s Moussa Dembele fee

The Light Blues value the Colombian forward at least as much as rivals Hoops rated Dembele

RANGERS will demand at least £20million for Alfredo Morelos.

Top scorer Morelos revealed last week he expects to leave Gers this summer.

Ibrox chiefs reckon hitman Morelos is worth at least as much as Moussa Dembele, who left Celtic for Lyon for £20m.

Gers managing director Stewart Robertson revealed the club’s valuation during a Q&A at the ORSA convention in New Zealand.

Robertson told fans: “We rate Morelos at least the same as Dembele in terms of value.”

Gers handed Morelos, 22, a bumper new contract last September, which runs until 2022.

He cost Rangers just £1m from HJK Helsinki in 2017, and the Colombian has netted 46 goals in 86 games.

Gers want to keep Morelos, and will demand top dollar before they even consider parting with their prized asset.

Dembele’s Lyon move was a Scottish record, and Gers believe Colombian cap Morelos is just as valuable.

Robertson’s response came after Morelos told a Colombian radio station he could leave Gers at the end of the season.

Morelos said: “There are many teams interested in me. Most likely my transfer will be this summer.

“I know my goalscoring record has been noticed by European clubs. Of course, I’d like to play in the Premier League.”

Bordeaux and Galatasaray are leading the chase for Morelos, but interest is mounting from across Europe.

Robertson, speaking in Auckland, also confirmed Gers will try to sign Liverpool loan star Ryan Kent permanently.

But with four years left on his Anfield deal, the Reds could demand a big fee for winger Kent who has been outstsanding this season.

Robertson also told fans gaffer Gerrard is overseeing improvements to the Hummel Training Centre.

I can see a bit of a stalemate in the coming transfer window.

A number of interested clubs but none willing to match our valuation.

Hypothetical, but the danger is that Alfredo wouldn't be best pleased at not getting a move and this would show in his game at a time when we are looking to get through European qualifiers.

Now, if he could play a couple of blinders and score goals (and avoid booking against Sheep) that put us into a SC Final and then win it.....the hypothetical might stretch to a club getting close enough to a valuation for the club to sell and get on with replacing him in the early part of the summer (opposed to last day in August).
