The players have worked hard since the last break and the results have been excellent so they should take a lot of confidence into the next round of games which will really separate the wheat from the chaff.

The previous two blocks were made up of 7 games each, the next is 10 games.

It's not only volume, the difficulty scale raises significantly with League trips away to Aberdeen, Hibs, Motherwell and Celtic. Not forgetting a National Cup Final and the business end of the EL group.

We would be wise not to get ahead of ourselves until we see where we are come the end of December. Away games like those are exactly the kind of games that will decide whether the title is won or not.

League games postponed because of League Cup semi-final and final were Home games.

 

Game at Easter Road being on the Friday means we lose a possible midweek date and hence a game less than Celtic.

Another excellent win under our belt. This time last season we had just beaten Motherwell 7-1 but were already 7 points worse off than we are now. We have currenly only dropped 2 points against the "rest of the league". Last season we matched Celtic in Old Firm games but were dropping points elsewhere so this is a huge improvement.

 

Our last 4 games included away trips to Livingston and Ross County (both tricky grounds), a semi final at Hampden where we hadn't scored in ages and a home game against a Champions League level side in Porto. We've come through those games with an aggregate of 11-0. The international break really has come at a bad time this time ?

Rangers are best team Livingston have faced all season, insists Marvin Bartley

Livingston captain Marvin Bartley praised Rangers and told them: You’re the best we’ve faced this season.

Bartley was a dejected figure at full-time after the Lions were totally outplayed.

They haven’t won a game since beating Celtic at home in September and have lost three of the five games following that momentous result.

Bartley, though, felt credit was due for the Gers.

He said: “We are obviously going to be disappointed when we’re losing games.

“But I think there are times when you just have to hold your hands up and say the better team won.

“In terms of the teams we’ve played at home, they’re definitely the best side we’ve faced so far this season.

“We were playing against a very good Rangers team.

“You can see how they’ve been doing in Europe and they came here and did a number on us. We can’t have any qualms about the result.

“I thought they were superb. As a player, you obviously don’t want to be coming off the pitch and be saying that about the opposition.

“But it was a hard game for us. Their rotation was very good and you have to say that the best team won on the day.

“I’ve played at this level for a few years now — and I’d have to say that’s the best Rangers team and performance I’ve come up against.

“They played out from the back and even when they did give it away they always had two or three men around it to win it back quickly.

“They imposed their game on us and we just weren’t able to impose our style on them unfortunately.

“But you have to realise it’s two totally different clubs in terms of size and budgets. You have to accept that.”

Bartley admitted he’s worried about Livi’s run without a win, but there was still some perspective.

He said: “It’s obviously a concern because you want to win games. We haven’t won for a while.

“But we’re still in a healthy position, because we don’t want to be in the bottom two.

“We’ve got the international break and then we face Celtic, so we’ve really just got to try and kick on now and roll our sleeves up.”

Bartley, meanwhile, praised the Livi No1 Matija Sarkic, who kept the score down and now reports for the Montenegro squad for Thursday night’s Euro 2020 qualifier against England at Wembley and a friendly against Belarus.

He added: “He made a couple of very good saves. It doesn’t count for much in the end, but he’s developing into a really good young keeper and he’ll now go away with his national team.”

I'm assuming you're talking about his mother, but that shouldn't concern you?!?!  Helander has never been beaten for pace despite being up against some of the fastest players in Europe (Porto and Feyenord in particular).
